It worked in a pinch, but this place is mostly seasonal like a number of places nowadays that are not a chain. The place was sort of run down and apparent from the get go that there hasn't been a lot of love or money put into the place over the years. I read all these posts about how wonderful this place is, but I have to say the bar for those folks has to be extremely low. Folks that run it seem nice enough. I think the thing beside how much the place appeared run down were the outdoor lounge chairs I saw scattered in the pond. Last Resort is actually a proper name for this place. I think the rate was about $55/night, which in normal circumstances would be appropriate if it had even a small level of upkeep. I sort of felt that I needed at tetanus shot after staying here. Water was just outright nasty, electrical seems a bit dated compared to the hundreds of other campgrounds I've been to, but the seasonal folks seemed content and my guess is as long as they are happy, this place will stay as it is. One star seems a bit harsh, but not out of the realm- but felt 2 stars was the right call as the folks at the desk were efficient and pleasant. I travel this route every so often, but I doubt I'd stop off here again. It's a shame because the location is great and the property could really be exceptional. A current 4.3 Google rating is exceptionally generous and biased. I would suggest reading the reviews of 3 or lower and take them to heart, unless the place has gone through some renovations, updates and repairs.

The water has rust in it. It's got a red color to it. It's stained my shower walls. It taste nasty. I can't even let my dogs drink it. Everything else is really nice. The park is pretty. The pond is nice as well. The only bad thing is the water. That's a big deal tho. People need clean drinking water to live.

It's a pretty good campground in my opinion. No, it's not the fanciest but that is OK. The price was right and the people who run the place were very nice and helpful. I talked to a few of the campers near me and they were pretty cool. The sites aren't real big, but they get the job done. My only real complaint was my site didn't have a picnic table. I read some reviews complaining about the noise from US-30, but the place is right off of it, so you have to expect that. I read some reviews from people saying the campground was noisy because of other campers. I did not experience that at all. It was Labor Day weekend, so I expected some late night noise, but I didn't hear any. They have a couple of young barn cats that are fantastic. The black one is especially friendly. I would go back just to see the cats. I would stay here again next time I'm in this area.

The people here are friendly and everyone we met was helpful. Sites are tight for larger rigs. The water seems to have a high concentration of iron and is discolored. The bath and shower facilities definitely need attention. The campground has a lot of potential, it just needs to be cleaned up.

Was one of the worst campgrounds I have ever stayed at. The sites are on top of each other, they don't mow, the neighbors sewer hookup is right where the broken down picnic table is that is for your site along with the rusty fire pit. The water comes out of the tap yellow would not drink it, wash with it or cook with it as I am sure you would get very sick. Will never stay here again and was glad...
