A little buggy, but was to be expected days after rain. Great trails, great woods, amazing in the morning, mid day and evening. Not a ton of fish, but if you have a boat, I would suggest bringing waders or a boat.

This place was beautiful! The trails are so nice. We took the scenic Backbone trail, and it was fantastic. The trails and surrounding areas are pretty clean -- not much trash. Love all of the parks here in Iowa. Big or small they all offer a great insight into history, nature, or a quiet respite from every day business as usual. Great hiking and sites to see here. Spent some time tromping the trails and bird watching. Well worth your time to stop and check out the sites and sounds.

First time here, and i was raised on NE iowa. It was very green and tranquil. The trails were kept up nicely, lots of cardinals, blue jays, finches and wood peckers. People were fishing , camping, running and hiking. Great little get away. We did a five mile hike walk and took a ton of pictures.
