Boone is popular during peak season. Reserve 2-4 weeks in advance for weekends and holidays.
Most parks have check-in after 1:00 PM and check-out by 11:00 AM. Call ahead if you'll arrive late.
Iowa weather can change quickly. Pack layers and check the forecast for Boone.

We arrived and had a mix up with spots but it was fixed immediately. The staff are friendly and helpful. The whole campground is clean and well kept. My kids loved the park behind one of the shelters and were able to go fishing in the pond. They also love the horses and got to go see them when we pull in. This was our 2nd time staying while visiting for the wrestling season and we will definitely... We arrived and had a mix up with spots but it was fixed immediately. Griff's is a wonderful RV park, the best place in the DSM area to stay. The place is kept very clean, and there are lots of nice amenities like concrete pads, mail and package service, and propane filling. We stayed for about 2 months there, and the only negative I can come up with is that sometimes they would drive heavy farm equipment through the park, but it's a farm, they're just doing their jobs! There is a railroad nearby that you can hear, but it's not loud, and the park is near the Ankeny airport, so there are often planes flying overhead. Staff is super nice and helpful. The community is very calm and relaxed, there is no weekend crowd like at some campgrounds. I highly recommend Griff's, especially for long stays.

Just realized I never left my honest review! Me and my fiancé stayed here back in May 2024 up until around October 2024 so we stayed here for 6 months! We moved into our camper full time and this was the one place close by that had year round camping until August 2024 we found out we were pregnant therefore living in a camper was not ideal for us as our camper was not big enough to raise a baby In not to mention we have two 50lb dogs that also lived in the camper with us! Anyway October comes around we found a house since we were EXPECTING A BABY and do I agree that we could have given them a notice yes I do regret that but we ended up leaving the park (mind you we are not in a signed agreement or contract) so we left thinking it wouldn’t be a big deal and I texted the lady in the office to let her know we left and she called at 8am yelling at me telling me that “you cant just up and leave” and “WE EXPECTED YOUR REVENUE” also stating that she turned down other people for us to have a lot of meanwhile there were probably 30 other lots that had just opened up due to prairie meadows season coming to an end and most of the out of state workers reside. Theyres also 2 full time lady’s that stay at this park and they harass you and knit pick at anything you do! Anyway we won’t be back not very nice, not very understanding and not sympathetic at ALL!

I love the staff, I love that there's no discrimination on trailer age. (If it ain't broke don't buy a new rig), it's so pretty with community rooms and more.. very reasonably priced. So far one of my favorites of the whole country.

This was the first time we have stayed at this park. We are full-time RVers so we stay in lots of parks. This park is one of the nicer ones. Concrete pads. Good paved roads. And quiet. There is a very large Facebook data center nearby. You can’t miss it. Driving to the park. But we didn’t hear anything from it. Probably my only complaint is that there is a lot of corn nearby.
