I'm from Charles City and I pretty much forgot this park exists. Been at it a few times, until this past summer I got onto the big Cedar River there, with a group of friends with kayaks.Super nice spot to get on the big Cedar.Whether you're floating down into Charles City or Rotary Park road or just getting off by the Floyd Bridge, It also has a decent number of campsites for overnight camping, Pa... This a great place to camp. My family has been going for over 4 decades. Also good if you want to float down the river the boat ramp is right at the campground. Start higher up and end at your campground. No electricity or water hook ups. Very secluded.

It was one of the best campgrounds I have ever been to. The site was very private, it felt like we had the entire place to our selves. There were no hookups. It was right on the Cedar River. They had two covered picnic spots , fresh water, toilets and trash cans. They also had a small playground.

A very nice primitive campground. My friends and I camp here at least once every year. It's very well taken care of and it's quiet.
