Black Hawk Park Campground

We had a large family group. We were at a family wedding reception when the water started rising. We had no idea, and to say "it wasn't on our mind", lol. The rangers continued trying all of our numbers until he reached us. A big shout out for our park rangers, they have MANY jobs people over look!! Yes we were last ones out but it was before the water reached us, thankfully. (But not by much)... We had a large family group. We were at a family wedding reception when the water started rising. (But not by much) The shower houses are nice and clean, brightly lit and the exhaust fans are great! Only wish for a small bench, I am disabled and it's a struggle, standing so long. Would love a ramp on the other side too. I was able to drive to other side, thankfully.

Very nice campground. The lake is larger and allows ski boats, jet skis, etc., which makes for more traffic on the lake and more noise than some of the smaller lakes. Also, you can hear some highway traffic noise in the distance. Overall, it's clean, well maintained, awesome camp hosts, beautiful lake views with lots of trees, restroom and shower house is very clean and well stocked. Places like t... Very nice campground. Places like this are the reason we prefer to camp in Iowa instead of Nebraska. The showers are FREE, too! We were in site # 48, 9/18-9/22/2024.

We love Blackhawk state park! 1. The bathrooms are nice and clean which makes for a good camping trip 2. The city of Lake View is a great town to be in. It has all the amenities you would want in a small town (small grocery store, gas stations, Dollar General, 2 restaurants, and a delicious coffee shop). 3. The lake is busy but not over crowded. 4.
