Seriously one of the best and most unique 9 hole courses I've ever played... And out of all the times I've played there I'm always the only one playing it... If you haven't yet make sure ya check it out and ya won't regret it!!! Unless you hate cool technical shots otherwise go play in an open field 😏😏

Beautifully mowed county park with large mature trees along a paved highway. First part has a playscape, swings, picnic tables, large pavilion, horseshoes, a digger sand tool, frisbee golf, bathrooms, water pump, recycling, historic Jakway-Richardson house and barn, and benches throughout. There is a handicapped parking space. The second part is a big circular drive campground. There are some... There are some existing campfire rings. Also a shower house and "RV dump" area. The third part of the park features some mowed casual hiking paths thru the woods along a creek. There is signage to guide and describe. The only negative part of this park is a "green slimey pond" in the woods. Can't the conservation people get that more under control? This is a missed opportunity. There is a "park ranger" living on the premise. (Nearest gas station is 4 miles away in Lamont. Lamont is very close to Backbone State Park, the oldest in Iowa.)

Only some spots have water, but lots have power hookups. Saw two 20 and 30 amp sockets at our spot but none higher. Sign said wifi, but couldn't get it to work, (although not a nessisity because camping). Fire pits have grates for cooking and firewood is stocked and for sale. Dogs loved the trails.
