About Milford State Park Hickory Hollow Campground

Campground in Kansas.

Nestled in the heart of Kansas, Milford State Park's Hickory Hollow Campground offers RV travelers a peaceful retreat surrounded by natural beauty and outdoor recreation opportunities. This state park campground provides an ideal base for exploring one of Kansas's most scenic destinations, where rolling hills meet pristine waters and nature enthusiasts find endless ways to spend their days.

The campground sits along the shores of Milford Lake, a stunning 9,400-acre reservoir that serves as the centerpiece of the park. The lake's clear waters and protected coves create an inviting destination for fishing, boating, and water activities throughout the year. Whether you're an angler hoping to catch bass, catfish, or crappie, or simply someone who enjoys being near the water, Milford Lake delivers the waterfront experience many RV campers seek.

Beyond water activities, the park's natural landscape provides abundant opportunities for hiking and exploring. The surrounding terrain features scenic trails that wind through native Kansas prairie and wooded areas, offering chances to observe local wildlife in their natural habitat. Bird watchers particularly appreciate the park's location along migratory routes, with numerous species visible throughout different seasons.

The Hickory Hollow area of the campground offers a more intimate camping experience compared to larger commercial RV parks. This setting appeals to those seeking a quieter, more nature-focused getaway. Families appreciate the balance of outdoor activities and peaceful camping atmosphere. The park's moderate size means you're not dealing with the crowds of massive commercial facilities, yet you have the amenities and facilities you expect from a well-maintained state park.

The location puts you within reasonable driving distance of several Kansas towns and attractions. The surrounding region offers a genuine taste of Kansas's natural character and small-town charm. For RV travelers interested in experiencing authentic Kansas landscapes and outdoor recreation without the commercialization of larger destinations, Milford State Park represents an excellent choice.

First time to this State Park and it was pretty neat. Very well kept being mowed and all. Lots of pretty nature to look around with trails and ghe campground we stayed in had a beautiful pollinator flower garden as you pull in! Friendly camp hosts. Good walking area for dogs and tons of grass too. Spots were decent sized as well some pavement others gravel. I can see why my parents like to camp here! Just a short walk down to lake to put kayaks in, found a already gravel path made for easy access. I don't think I would swim right there but kayaking yes! Beautiful views. A must camping or boating trip! Pricing for campsite for 2 spots was reasonable. In other campground spots they have full bathrooms/showers and even laundry just not in the hickory hollow one.
