Visited this place couple of years ago. This was my first camping experience in the South. Well maintained and a very good camp site in the wilderness of south Kentucky. It has a barbeque grill, separate fire place with benches around it and a very large tent area.

We have stayed at this group camp ground for many years. Our recent stay was disappointing. It is under new management and I would have expected it to be better, however, the shelter wasn’t clean, the grass wasn’t cut and to our surprise if you rent the picnic shelter the rental times do not coincide with the campground rental times. Someone showed up at 9:00pm on Saturday night and told us we had to get our stuff out of the shelter. I wouldn’t have imagined that the shelter rental time was different than the campground time. All this should be revisited by the new management.

These boat ramps do not operate like the rest of the national forests in the country. You cannot get a pass at the boat launch and it does not tell you until you go all the way down the long road to each boat ramp. It doesn't even tell you where to buy one comma, but you must go back into town and buy one from a local vendor.

Great place for groups or multiple families tent camping together. Not well suited for camper. The bath house is truly nice, not what you would expect this far out in the woods. Very peaceful and not right on the lake, but close by.
