This was our 2nd time staying at Three Springs. The children loved the cabin & the owner & people who work here are so kind and accommodating. It was December so we needed an extra space heater and they quickly brought one over. The bathrooms/bathhouse is always clean & warm. We got a couple bundles of firewood and Billy was so kind to drive them over for us as our vehicle was loaded full. We left our headlights on and needed a jump before we left and he and his lovely wife were kind to help us with that, too! There’s always a picnic table and campfire spot at the cabins and Granna’s cabin even had a water spigot outside. Next time we'd like to explore the hiking trails of this pretty campground in spring or summer. We look forward to coming back again!

I stayed two nights here over a crisp October weekend (2025), a nice escape just north of Lexington. I was tent camping and not in an RV. The tent sites are nice, nestled under tall shade trees, with three hiking trails and creeks although the creek near my site was dry at the time I was there. Clean bathrooms, the staff was out the week during my time there. It is a convenient spot if you plan to visit the Ark Encounter. A few letdowns kept it from five stars: They ran out of firewood, so plan accordingly. The site and confirmation advertised picnic tables at every tent spot but only one had one (not a deal breaker, but when expecting a table it is disappointing when there is not one), and highway noise crept in at times. The worst part which is not the fault of the park (or it would have been two stars) was two nights in a row there were campers a few spots down from me sitting in their vehicles with them running. So the AC compressor would kick on and at times I could hear their radio and this went on very late into the evening (after 10:00) and then early morning (as early as 6:30). Not great when you desire to only hear the sounds of nature. Not to mention are they rich? How much fuel did they burn? LOL I would not personally stay here again, but I feel it would suffice for most campers, especially if you are in a RV. I am just accustomed to more quiet camping.

The campground provides the essentials for RV camping (electricity and water), plus has free wifi throughout (which was a nice surprise), but there isn’t much to do there for kids (no playground, only a small partial playset; I didn’t have my kids with me on this trip). There are hiking trails but they were off-limits at the time because it was hunting season. I give three stars instead of four or five for two reasons: (1) they charge a 3.5% transaction fee in addition to a flat booking fee and taxes, which really means the actual nightly rate is 3.5% higher than advertised (hidden fee), and (2) the campsite I had was very muddy (with no grass) despite my request for the best site available (there were plenty available that had grass and not muddy). I was disappointed in the grass-less muddy conditions of the site I was at, although most of the other sites had nice grass areas (other than new sites that apparently had been recently added). The Three Springs website does not show actual pictures of any of the campsites (more on that at the end of this review). I emailed Three Springs asking if they recommended a site among the sites available at the time, and they were responsive to emails, but they responded saying all the sites were the same; but that was not true since the one I unfortunately happened to pick out was the only one muddy and without grass. Beware that the Three Springs website shows generic stock photos for each campsite, not actual photos; even the main webpage background is a stock photo. I recommend Three Springs takes photos of each campsite to replace the stock photos; I think Three Springs would get more customers booking if actual photos are shown. I’ll probably consider staying again sometime in the future when I visit Lexington again (just me, without my kids), especially now that I know more about the campground and able to make sure I reserve a grassy site.

Beautiful location. Kind owners and employees. Easy reservations and when we needed to change our dates, very accommodating. Close to everything we wanted to do. Easy day trips to the Ark Encounter, the Creation Museum and Cincinnati Zoo. 🙂 We accidentally left a tool at our campsite. Nice little quiet campground. We saw some wildlife, deer and a large flock of turkeys. The hosts were very nice and extremely helpful. They appear to be working very hard to improve the campground. We enjoyed our stay, visited the Ark and the Creation Museum.
