About Cumberland Falls State Resort Park

Nestled near Corbin in Kentucky, Cumberland Falls State Resort Park provides 50 campsites for nature lovers. This state park combines convenience with natural beauty for an unforgettable camping experience.

Nestled in the heart of southeastern Kentucky, Cumberland Falls State Resort Park offers RV campers an exceptional gateway to one of the region's most spectacular natural attractions. The park's 50 sites provide comfortable home bases for exploring the stunning Cumberland River gorge and the magnificent 125-foot waterfall that gives this destination its name. Whether you're seeking adventure, relaxation, or family-friendly outdoor experiences, this year-round facility delivers on all fronts.

The main draw is undoubtedly Cumberland Falls itself, often called the "Niagara of the South." The waterfall creates a mist that catches the moonlight during full moons, producing a rare and enchanting moonbow phenomenon that draws visitors from across the region. Hiking trails of varying difficulty levels wind through the pristine forest surrounding the falls, offering stunning vistas and opportunities to connect with nature. The main trail to the falls is relatively accessible, making it suitable for families and less experienced hikers while still delivering breathtaking scenery.

Beyond waterfall gazing, the Cumberland River provides excellent fishing opportunities. Whether you're an experienced angler or introducing the family to fishing, the river yields bass, catfish, and other species. The park's boat ramp makes water access convenient, allowing you to explore the scenic river corridor by kayak or powerboat. Many visitors find the combination of fishing and riverside camping to be the perfect escape from daily routines.

The park's facilities are well-maintained and thoughtfully designed for RV travelers. Full hookup sites, clean restrooms with hot showers, and a convenient camp store mean you can focus on enjoying your vacation rather than worrying about logistics. Picnic tables and fire rings at each site create the perfect setup for evening gatherings, while the playground keeps younger campers entertained.

Corbin itself sits in a region rich with Appalachian culture and history. The area offers a genuine taste of southeastern Kentucky hospitality, with local restaurants and shops reflecting authentic regional character. Whether you're interested in exploring waterfalls, casting a line, enjoying peaceful evenings by the campfire, or simply soaking in the natural beauty of Kentucky's landscape, Cumberland Falls State Resort Park provides an ideal RV camping experience for all seasons.

Epic location. Super beautiful area with lots of hiking and sights. The falls are really cool and there are tons of angels you can look at. We stayed in a Cabin. It was very easy to book and the staff were super friendly and helpful. The cabin itself was a bit old and the heater only heated the top half. Was pretty cold at night. I really wanted a wood fire place and it only had a gas one in ours... Epic location. Super beautiful area with lots of hiking and sights. Overall it was a nice place and would go back.

No hiking needed to see this beautiful fall!!!!I didn’t want to post all my pictures because you really have to experience how beautiful this place is in person. One of the best places to go when I want to just get away. The falls are amazing. There's easy access for those who can walk flat surfaces. There are trails and stairs for those who want to put in a little more effort. There's a small beach area at the for of the falls where pet owners take their dogs to play in the water. It's amazing!!

The park is gorgeous! Love that there are paved trails so a wheelchair, stroller, walker, etc are able to go down the path to see the falls and river. The park was VERY busy. We got to see the falls, took a strenuous hike to another waterfall, and there were few people. This trail is not paved and is a level 8 out of 10 for difficulty. LOVED it!
