We finally made it to Bogue Chitto State Park, and we can't believe we waited this long! This place is huge with so much to explore, and it has instantly become one of our favorite campgrounds. We're already planning our next trip back! 🗺️ Exploring the Vast Outdoors From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the park's impressive scale and natural beauty. It's a true adventurer's paradise, offering something for everyone. The park is an absolute haven for trails. Everywhere you look, there are paths winding through the woods, specifically designated for different types of fun: - Horse riding trails and a separate area for Equestrian campers (plus, you can even rent horses right in the park!). - Hiking and biking trails weaving throughout the landscape. - An impressive Mountain Bike Trailhead area with courses for all skill levels and trailheads leading to diverse routes. - If you don't bring your own gear, don't worry! The Camp Store is fully stocked not only with essentials, but also with bike, e-bike, and golf cart rentals. And, for those mid-day treats, they even have Blue Bell Ice Cream and Hunts Brothers Pizza! 🌊 Riverfront Bliss and Natural Views Bogue Chitto is defined by its stunning riverfront location. The park sits right on the beautiful and clear Bogue Chitto River, offering perfect opportunities to cool off. You can rent river tubes right in the park and drift along! For swimming and relaxing, there are several lovely beach access areas complete with pavilions, bathrooms, and plenty of space to set up. Beyond the river, the park is dotted with several ponds that are not only naturally beautiful but also excellent for fishing. 🏡 Camping and Amenities for Every Style The accommodations at Bogue Chitto are just as diverse as the activities. Whether you're a seasoned RVer or looking for a comfortable cabin, they have you covered: - RV Sites: We stayed in the Bottomland RV sites, which had power and water but no sewage hookup. We loved that some of these sites had direct water access to the ponds or creek! The Upperland RV sites offer full hookups, though they are set back from the water. You can also opt for simple primitive sites with no power or water. - For those without a camper or tent, there are several nice cabins available, as well as a dedicated Group Camp area. - The park's amenities are also top-notch. The bathroom facilities and showers are spread everywhere, and we were pleased to find they were all spacious and clean. 🤸 Fun for the Whole Family The park clearly caters to families, with some wonderful dedicated areas for kids and recreation: - The state-of-the-art playground has so many great features it could entertain for hours! - A fantastic splash pad area that includes a fun water slide. The Interpretive Kids Trail is a great way to engage younger explorers with cool, nature-themed features along the path. - For a little competitive fun, there's also a very neat disc golf course! Bogue Chitto State Park truly has it all—from miles of trails and beautiful waterfront access to excellent camping and family amenities. We couldn't recommend it enough! #lanclosadventures

This place is great to spend the weekend or the week. Plenty to see and do. Trials, swim in the river, small waterpark, with a nice playground for the kids. Play on the beach. This was my first time going and will definitely go back. Will also be bringing my golf cart next time.

Love the hiking 🥾 areas. Bike trails are well maintained and serviced. The house trails and rentals are easy. My horse was gentle. I'm not a horseman but I'm happy to be riding.

I didn't have an opportunity to explore the grounds in the surrounding area. However, the pamphlet listed several sites I would love to go back & visit. There were bikers& campers all over the park. The shower & bathroom accommodations could have been cleaner & better. The participants, decorations, food, & atmosphere in the banquet areas made up for all that. I would recommend this for a family who enjoys camping & being outdoors with family.
