This welcoming destination serves as an ideal base for travelers seeking to explore one of America's most culturally significant regions while enjoying comfortable outdoor accommodations.

Port Gibson itself is a charming town steeped in Civil War history and Southern heritage. Known as the "Town Too Pretty to Burn," Port Gibson earned its nickname during Sherman's march to the sea, when Union forces chose to preserve the town due to its architectural beauty. Today, visitors can walk tree-lined streets and admire antebellum homes, visit historic churches, and explore museums dedicated to the area's compelling past. The nearby Mississippi River adds another dimension to the region's appeal, with scenic views and recreational opportunities that have drawn people to this area for generations.

Awesome free spot. Listen up yoyos😆 Dont mess a good thing up. Pick up your garbage, dont steal anything, and keep the bathrooms clean. I know you will mess it up but least I tried. No cell service there which is the only negative thing.

An awesome, free, and peaceful campground with beautifully dark skies perfect for stargazing — you can even see the Milky Way on a clear night. The bathrooms are very clean, though there are no showers available. We stayed at a primitive campsite and loved being surrounded by the abundant wildlife in the area.

Nice quiet and your have a little privacy since most site have trees between the sites. Most sites have grill, picnic takes and fire pits. Most bathrooms by camping were.xlosed by along the trace parkway they were open. The stars were bright and amazing. No cell reception so it's really quiet except when you get to hear the people blowing the horn ( not car horns)

Very nice campground for quick and easy set up. I have camped here several times and am always setting up after dark. There is enough space for a few tents at every site with fire pit and picnic table. Access to the creek is easy and I suggest trying out the hiking trails as well as visiting the church and old Town site. This is a beautiful and very historic area worth more time and attention.
