Cool place to camp on the river, only $2 a night. Not rv freindly at all tho low hanging trees and the campground is basically a parking lot then you have to take your gear down to a tent site.

Drove to kisatchie national forest not really knowing where to go, just knew we wanted to do some fishing, after a quick google search the bayou campgrounds seemed like what we were looking for. Still hesitant on what we were gonna find when we got there it was better than i expected, after a 20ish minute drive down a red gravel road you’ll find a little parking lot and down the steps is the bayou... Which I’m from the Midwest so to me it more resembled a big creek. There is a few small water falls and a white sand. The water is exceptionally clear, looking more like a black water fish tank with all the tannins in it. And sooo many fish, sitting in the water they come up and nibble your legs. Even caught a few bass and some what I assume sunfish. Overall a very relaxing day trip, and definitely will come back to do some primitive camping. There is a primitive bathroom and trash cans available as well as picnic tables and bbq pits. No running water or electricity hook ups, and the only down side is the phone service is bad but what can you expect when you go that deep in nature.

Primitive camping at its best. This spot is beautiful, the stream that runs through it is nice and clean, we swam in it, bathed in it and even caught enough fish out of it for dinner the first night (catfish and bass) no electricity, no potable water and one valt bathroom for those afraid to take a dump in the woods. Our little dogs also approve of this campground.
