I have zero idea how they get such good reviews. They had water and electric (the cover on ours was broke) at each site and they were all pull throughs that were very well spaced. But that is where the good ended. We reserved a week so we planned to use their showers so we wouldn’t fill up our grey tank. The shower houses were very cold and the water never got even lukewarm. The first shower house had two out of 4 showers that worked but even though I let them run for at least 5 minutes they did not get warm. The other shower house had working showers but again cold water. It was strange because the water in the sinks would get warm but never hot. I did go to the office and ask if that’s just how it is and she said no and that she would call someone right away. I checked every day after but it never improved. And the bathrooms and shower houses were very dirty. There was a small dead lizard on the floor the entire time were were there. They had three camp host trailers for the 50 sites but they sure didn’t sweep or wash the floors. The non-potable water hose we used leaked more out the fittings that went into our black tank flush. Only one potable water station was available and they was no way I would ever use that water for anything that would touch my body let alone drink it. I had wanted to visit grand Isle for years but this experience ruined it for me.

Hadn't been in about 62 years. The beach is well maintained, the breakers add to the beauty. RV camping area well maintained and flourishing with campers on Mardi Gras day.

Though there is not an overabundance of shells, we have been able to collect quite a few small conch and shark eyes.

Just left the park and really enjoyed it. The wind and waves were to high for fishing, but everything else was really nice. Wild life was beautiful and trails were perfect for hiking. I have been camping since I was a child. My wife and I arrived to meet Lanny & Michelle on a Sunday afternoon in June. I have never had such a great welcome. They introduced us to the Island, giving us a brief history, etc. Then they took us out for an Island tour. Upon return we had a wonderful dinner. My best stay ever! We will return for the summer in 2013!
