We stayed at the State Park on Grand Isle in January 2026. I have zero idea how they get such good reviews. I have zero idea how they get such good reviews. They had water and electric (the cover on ours was broke) at each site and they were all pull throughs that were very well spaced. But that is where the good ended. We reserved a week so we planned to use their showers so we wouldn’t fill up our grey tank. The shower houses were very cold and the water never got even lukewarm. The first shower house had two out of 4 showers that worked but even though I let them run for at least 5 minutes they did not get warm. The other shower house had working showers but again cold water. It was strange because the water in the sinks would get warm but never hot. I did go to the office and ask if that’s just how it is and she said no and that she would call someone right away. I checked every day after but it never improved. And the bathrooms and shower houses were very dirty. There was a small dead lizard on the floor the entire time were were there. They had three camp host trailers for the 50 sites but they sure didn’t sweep or wash the floors. The non-potable water hose we used leaked more out the fittings that went into our black tank flush. Only one potable water station was available and they was no way I would ever use that water for anything that would touch my body let alone drink it. I had wanted to visit grand Isle for years but this experience ruined it for me.

We chose to beach camp. Tents only on the beach. You will need to carry all items in. No driving on the beach so pack light! Clean sites. 14 in all I believe. Each has picnic tables, a trash can, and fire rings. Camp host will come by 2 or more times to check in and empty the trash cans. We checked out the other campground (drive in/drive thru) sites. The bathrooms/bath house were well maintained and clean. Definitely recommend

Hadn't been in about 62 years. The beach is well maintained, the breakers add to the beauty. RV camping area well maintained and flourishing with campers on Mardi Gras day.

The state park is nestled at the East end of Grand Isle, Louisiana. It is right on the gulf with 50 large pull-through campsites. At each end of the RV parking area are bathrooms, showers and one laundry facilities. It is a short walk to the beach from the campsite. Once on the beach you can walk to the West a total of 6 miles. Though there is not an overabundance of shells, we have been able to collect quite a few small conch and shark eyes.

Just left the park and really enjoyed it. The wind and waves were to high for fishing, but everything else was really nice. Wild life was beautiful and trails were perfect for hiking. Park manager, Jerome was awesome and very helpful with suggestions about the park and local amendities. The reason we didnt give it a 5, would have liked more lighting at the campsites. We enjoyed our two-month stay here at Island House RV Park. Lanney and Michele, our hosts were wonderful. They arranged a sailboat trip for us at no cost and, they were extremely helpful to all the guests. We had great fun fishing, enjoying meals together with all of the other campers, walking our dogs on the beach, and so on. This is a great place to relax and enjoy all that Grand Isle has to offe... I have been camping since I was a child. My wife and I arrived to meet Lanny & Michelle on a Sunday afternoon in June. I have never had such a great welcome. They introduced us to the Island, giving us a brief history, etc. Then they took us out for an Island tour. Upon return we had a wonderful dinner. My best stay ever! We will return for the summer in 2013!
