Mount Desert Campground

By far, the best campground we’ve ever stayed at! We’ve stayed at a lot of campgrounds, but this one takes the win. Beautiful scenery, well thought out layout of the sites, the bath houses were very clean and nice, the Gathering Place offers daily coffee and pastries, the hosts were incredibly kind and helpful, and it’s a great location to easily get into Acadia or Bar Harbor. Our campsite was beautiful and we loved the views and location, however we were disappointed that there was no designated area to wash dishes. We were also a little disappointed with the shower situation- I didn't expect to pay for showers with the cost we already paid for the campsite. The rustic shower is probably ok on a hot summer day but on a chilly September morning, having the wind come thr... The rustic shower is probably ok on a hot summer day but on a chilly September morning, having the wind come through the walls of the shower building was not ideal. Having a place to buy a hot cup of coffee in the morning was great though.
