Husband had a total knee replacement at NECOS in Portsmouth, NH, requiring us to stay in the area for 17 days, pre & post surgery. Stayed in a cottage. Post-surgery, a Phys. therapist came to cottage to work with husband every other day. Studio cottage provided us & our2 dogs with all facilities. Fenced in dog park was a major plus for our 2 aussies! Mgr ordered a chair w/ottoman for my husband to relax in w/leg elevated, going above & beyond anything we would expect. We had never lodged here before. All staff, friendly, helpful. Cottage's interior, immaculate. Modern decor. Able to open windows. A-C, heat, internet, cable tv, delicious tap water! Full size fridge/freezer. 2 burner stove. Artistically designed interior. Place to park. We usually camp, so this type of lodging was a 1st for us. Needed space in which to recover after surgery. Located 6 miles from a larger dog park. Close to beach, harbor (w/gazebo, pavilion, playground), many restaurants and Nature preserves. For 42 summers, we have vacationed in this area, loving its white, sandy beaches. This resort optimally met every one of our needs. Its mgr. is thee best! Visiting there in autumn, we did not use its pool. Grateful for its accommodations for handicapped needs during husband's post-surgery. Walker fit into the shower. Commode was at a high enough level for patient.

Has to be one of the most dog friendly places I have ever stayed at especially with multiple dogs. Cottages are clean and comfortable. The staff are wonderful and accommodating. If visiting Wells with your dogs this is definitely the place to stay.

We just stayed at Drake Island Resort (cottage 14) and had a great time. The cottage is perfect for two people and our dog, very clean, comfortable, and the king size bed was so comfy. The dog park was an added plus. Definitely will go back!!
