We drove to top of Mt Battie (I'm getting old and a knee replacement last year), great views and a cool tower and the cost was two bucks each (Sr discount) The only neg is the ranger at the pay house was way too grumpy, If I was king of Maine I wouldn't have him greeting tourists!

Showers can be updated but we're free and cleaner than most. No hot water. Firewood is for sale for $7 a bundle. Great campsites
