Located at 3626 Old Blue Ridge Turnpike, this public campground serves as an ideal base for exploring the natural beauty and cultural heritage of central Maryland.

The surrounding area is characterized by rolling farmland, historic mountain views, and the kind of quiet countryside atmosphere that makes RV camping so restorative. Guests frequently find themselves drawn to the slower pace of life here, where the main soundtrack is often the gentle rustling of trees and wildlife rather than highway noise. The property's location near the Blue Ridge region means you're positioned between some genuinely worthwhile destinations without feeling crowded or overdeveloped.

For outdoor enthusiasts, the proximity to hiking trails, scenic byways, and natural areas makes this an excellent jumping-off point for exploration. History buffs will appreciate the region's significant Revolutionary and Civil War heritage sites that dot the surrounding counties. The area also supports a thriving agricultural community, and visitors often discover local farmers markets, farm stands, and agritourism activities that showcase Maryland's rural character.

I car camped here, off season, for 2 nights to relax and enjoy the fall views. Old Rag and other popular hike trailheads are nearby. I was amazed at the views while in the orchard on foot. I took a big deep breath, closed my eyes, and let the sun warm my face. Isn't that the best? The $12 honor system to camp is a great rate. One negative is that I never found a marked potable water spigot or fresh spring. I also never asked anyone, so that's on me. It is generous of the Graves family to allow the public so much open access to explore. Thank you everyone on the farm.

I’m currently 3 hours into listening to whatever bar blasts music from across the road. Think I’m on my third Dwight Yoakum song. Nice folks and nice area but do not recommend if you’re interested in peace. Will not be returning.

Greaves Mountain is certainly a very hard ride but well worth it. Climbing the devils backbone is pretty steep and works the horses up into a bucket of sweat. It's a few miles up the steep Mountain, but well worth the top. A no-frills campsite, plenty of open space and the sunsets and night sky here are spectacular. The lodge and facilities nearby are great additions, we went for breakfast one morning which was very good. No frills camping, as no picnic tables or anything, but not a complaint. The map was campsite map was difficult to understand, we never found the water stand.

Affordable campground with plenty of porta potties and well water stations around the field. Pick your own spot, there are no pre-assigned plots of land. There is a decent general store that makes sandwiches right next door which is helpful!
