Best staff ever. So helpful. Read the signs coming into the park. There are 2 parks, State side and National side. National allows dogs. State does not. State side pricing is different during the season, priced per person and National side is per car (I believe). Ask plenty of questions at the booths when entering the parks to make sure you're at the right park that fits your needs! Enjoy.

We have decided to do our family yearly vacation here for a week. It was VERY tough to book. Took us two years to be able to get in for summer time, but TOTALLY understand why. Took us two years to be able to get in for summer time, but TOTALLY understand why. The campground is located right outside of the dunes so a super short walk. No matter what spot you get it's a wonderful ocean breeze and sounds of the waves all day. Horses roam around the whole island, through the beach and campground. Outside of the Horses the park is full of wildlife. The water was GREAT. Not too cold but still very refreshing even during cloudy days. Full Bathrooms on or near every loop. Drinking water tap, dump stations, dumpsters, air station and fish cleaning station all available for use. Cube or block ice and wood available at the Ranger Station. Also the staff make their rounds selling wood and ice around the Loops. Bathrooms are spacious and clean. There are showers inside and outside. Hot water available. As well as post beach rinse shower for feet, items or pets. A few things to know though which could be a draw back for some. Depending on wind direction, camp spot and season the bugs can be RELENTLESS. Going in we knew about horse flies. But by end of the trip we were more fed up with mosquitoes than the horse flies. I have NEVER in my life gotten bitten this much. I mean when they came out it was a nightmare and whatever we used didn't seem to bother them. We had to shower in repellent and just slowly roast out butts near the fire if we wanted to be outside during the mosquito outbreaks. Which also ment sweating given it was mid August. We brought a tent with a netting, but it was far too hot under the tent during the day time so we didn't use it. So if you decide to come here have the expectations to get BIT! The other unfortunate thing is that you can't use a generator (inverter or not) between 10pm and 6am. On hot, muggy nights with all the bugs and NO WIND around it was uncomfortable for sure. Highly recommend having battery fans. My husband acutely ended up making a battery fan kooler AC and using block of ice. Just a little trick. It helped a little to cool off the camper. We did get blessed with two wonderfully cool days the last two days of our week and THAT was a delight. It was after a day of rain, supper breezy. No need for the AC, barley any mosquitoes of flies. With camper windows open it was the best two days. That actually made me think I might prefer to come off season next time. Over all this campground was really nice and the staff was very friendly we will be back

Some rangers are very kind, but two younger female girls (redhead before toll booth and brunette riding around on cart)let the power go to their head. Defintly looking to cause issues. How are you miserable when you work at such a beautiful place. A few bad apples can ruin a wonderful place. Toll booth girl, very nice and helpful. Mid age female ranger wonderful. Young blonde knowledge and super... Some rangers are very kind, but two younger female girls (redhead before toll booth and brunette riding around on cart)let the power go to their head.
