It was a great experience to visit this campground. The teepee huts had plenty of space with bunk beds. There are several trails to explore and a small pond. The campsites had several picnic tables and a large secure fire pit. The pool has just been renovated but we did not get to use it. Having running water on site was very helpful. My daughter returned after spending a week here. She told me that the Camp was on the news because the camp was not only understaffed, no lifeguard, no nature specialist, no snacks for hikes, but councilors quit, the water was DIRTY, the bathrooms smelled, the campers had to clean the bathrooms, and I heard much worse from other campers. This is a shock and I don't understand why a camp isn't professionally run with adults in leadership and proper care for the kids.

I was quite excited to join this camp’s community, and my sister and I were seemingly welcomed. Throughout the week, my camp experience went downhill. I was put into a group with girls 2 years younger than I was, they were very crude and mean. There was little to no moderation and facilitation when it came to the bullying, and many little girls were left in tears and begging to go home day after day. To make matters worse, one of the girls had came to camp with COVID-19 and we were unable to come in contact with any other group, our activities were limited, and it was not very fun. My parents had communicated to the camp that they were willing to pick me up if I wanted to go home (I did) and the counselors never expressed that to me. Another issue I had with the counselors was the fact that our lights were forced out early unlike the other groups because “We like to swim in the lake when you are sleeping” claimed one of them. There were also two counselors that identified as males- but had joined the girl scout camp before their transition. This made me uncomfortable, and grown men in a Girlscout camp didn’t sit right with me. I was super disappointed with this girl scout camp, “you’ll never want to leave” my parents assured me after I had been so nervous at drop off. This Girlscout camp does not align with their whole mantra and promise. If I were a parent, I would not send my kids here.
