About Pocomoke River State Park - Loop F - Water's Edge

Campground in Maryland.

Pocomoke River State Park's Loop F, known as Water's Edge, offers RV campers an exceptional escape into the natural beauty of Maryland's Eastern Shore. Nestled along the scenic Pocomoke River, this state park campground provides the perfect blend of water-based recreation and peaceful forest surroundings that make the Delmarva Peninsula such a special destination.

The Pocomoke River itself is the star attraction here, a blackwater river known for its dark, tea-colored waters lined with cypress trees and abundant wildlife. Whether you're an angler, kayaker, or simply someone who loves being near water, the river offers countless opportunities for exploration and outdoor adventure. The calm waters are ideal for paddling, and fishing enthusiasts regularly enjoy success catching largemouth bass, catfish, and other species throughout the year. Many campers spend their days on the water and their evenings back at their RV sites, reflecting on the day's adventures.

Loop F's Water's Edge location means many sites offer direct or near river views, creating that special camping atmosphere where you can wake up to the sounds of nature and fall asleep under stars reflected in the water. The surrounding forest provides natural shade and a sense of seclusion, even though you're camping in a developed park with modern conveniences. Towering pines and mixed hardwoods frame the landscape, and the park's location in the heart of Pocomoke State Park means you're surrounded by thousands of acres of protected natural area.

The Eastern Shore region offers charming small towns within easy driving distance, featuring local restaurants, antique shops, and historic sites that reflect the area's rich colonial heritage. For those interested in exploring beyond the campground, nearby attractions include pristine beaches, wildlife refuges, and scenic byways perfect for day trips. The region is known for its relaxed pace and genuine hospitality, making it an ideal destination for RVers seeking to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life while maintaining access to outdoor recreation and authentic regional experiences.

This location appeals to a wide range of campers: fishing enthusiasts will appreciate the river's reputation, nature lovers will enjoy the forested setting and wildlife viewing opportunities, paddlers will find excellent kayaking conditions, and families will appreciate the safe, peaceful environment combined with outdoor activities suitable for all ages. The highly-rated park attracts repeat visitors who return season after season to experience the timeless beauty of Maryland's river country.

We rented a cabin for a two-day stay. The natural environment is superb, and the bathhouses are exceptionally clean—truly at hotel-level quality. In our experience, this is the number one campground in the USA! Thank you!

Great park with nice hikes. Only electric hook ups at Acorn Loop. The water spigots dotted around the loop were not working. Had to get water at the dish wash area next to the bathrooms.

Love it here. Been visiting since 2021. Visited 3 times. Park is clean and well maintained. Clean bathrooms with hot water. They spray for bugs so biting bugs especially aren’t bad at all. Nice maintained hiking trails. Beautiful spacious campsites. Friendly accommodating staff who are always professional. Acorn trail is my favorite camping loop. This year we visited the nature center. Beautiful campground with tall trees and wooded sites. Some loops have electric but not water. Plenty of trails to hike and park roads to bicycle. There is a pool, a camp store, and the river to kayak on. The bathrooms are fine. One problem is the horseflies so bring bug spray! The park is pet friendly.

Great little park close to home. Not too crowded, still a pretty quiet place to go disconnect and explore. I've done some fantastic fishing out here in the past too.
