Wow 🤯 great trails and bridges to hike with your fur baby 🍼. Plus they have boat launches and jet ski launch areas. I've even seen people fishing right over the deep water dock. They have fish cleaning tubs if you do catch something and a discovery center. Plus a couple of very modern playgrounds for the kids. Great great park 🏞️

Short, easy walking trail. Access to the marina and docks for fishing looked great. Clean bathroom facilities. Will need to go back in season to explore the discovery center.

Your tent will go on gravel versus in the woods so I recommend a footprint and the harbor freight blankets for the floor. You can go fishing, hiking, there's an art center, Discovery Center, and mansion that can be visited. I enjoyed my visit.

Smallwood State Park seems under appreciated. We were literally the only ones there on a Sunday summer day exploring the small but thoughtful discovery center. The park was mainly populated by boaters and fishers. They do have a public ramp for launching your boat and plenty of parking for trailers. The General Walk Trail Loop is a nice shaded 2 mile loop that takes around most of the park. Highly recommend the trail to get a reprieve from the summer heat/sun.

I enjoyed my stay here. There isn't a lot to do here if you're not fishing or boating, but there is a nice hiking trail and a few historic sites to check out. No beach or pool. The park is clean, quiet, and relaxing. I had electrical and water hookups for my RV. No sewer, but there is a dump station. I'd come again.
