We made a last minute and spontaneous decision to go camping before my partner travels a while for work. Detached Primitive was a hidden gem and the perfect spot. Very easy to find parking lot and manageable hike up to the A Frame homes. We did take two carts full of gear (mainly food and bags) which was tough going up the soft sand trails but it was very much so worth the hike. The A Frame campsites were very comfortable and stayed cool even in 80 degree weather. The battery packs provided by Detached lasted our entire stay and powered not only the lights but our mini fans every night. Super thankful to the staff for also bringing a larger fan for us just incase. The price was very affordable for everything that it provided. We made great memories at A Frame east and will definitely be back! I will be gifting a getaway to my partner and her mom to come out there!

First and foremost this campground is breathe taking and the tipis, yurts, cabins, and hobbit home are so so cute and cozy. The owners are incredibly kind people. My husband and I are campers and we are always looking for unique camping experiences… I can say without a doubt that this campground/ resort is the most beautiful one in the state. The housing and tents are just too cute.

We checked in to the Hobbit House on 2.1.25 and we were not able to get a fire going with the supplies provided for us. The wood was not lighting and was too wet. We ended up having to leave and got a hotel in GR instead. It looks like a cool place but I would definitely NOT recommend going in the winter. We were assured the Hobbit House would have fire supplies and wood, and we did not need to pack in supplies, and then we got stuck 😳Leaving this review so you can think twice. BE SAFE and try in spring, summer, or fall when you don’t need 🔥 On a brighter note, the pizza place (Flo’s) was spectacular and the owner overheard “birthday” and brought us some amazing cannoli’s! The food was too notch and a great place to warm up! Definitely recommend!!

We checked in on the 3rd and settled in and made burgers and hot dogs on the fire pit and played some fun board games they provided. We slept good and made some eggs and bacon in the morning. We rented bikes and spent the day on the White Pine bike trail. The weather was immaculate and the views were beautiful. We headed back to the A-Frame and had some steak and rice for dinner. We heard the fireworks and had a fire and watched the fireflies. We played Mancala and Battleships and went to bed. The morning we got up and an animal had went through the trash we left outside. We packed up headed on our way. The best place to detach yourself from the rest of the world. Come check it out!

Can’t say enough about this campground, owners, and staff! Beautiful property and so accommodating. We hosted an event on property and Sarah and her family made it happen. They were the best, totally recommend!
