⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Father and Son Camping I camped here overnight for the first time with my son in Sep 20-21, 2025. The lake and setting are absolutely beautiful. The lake and setting are absolutely beautiful. The trail is short (about 1.3 km) yet I would say very steep and the start is uphill (like 100m..) If you are camping, do not bring a wagon to haul your gear! you’ll regret it. We carried two 40L packs instead, which was challenging but manageable (I needed to help my son so my back was a bit sore). The campground has bear-proof lockers, flat tent pads, and good lake access and there is wood for the communal firepits. If you are camping my recommendations would be pack light, rely on instant meals, hot drinks and simple snacks. Don't over pack clothing, bring proper water filter or purifying tablets, so you can use the lake water and consider the uphill hike. Overall, an excellent backcountry trip, but go in prepared and keep your load as light as possible. We will definitively try more backcountry campings and this camp will be in our list!

There is a beautiful lake 20 minutes walk from the parking lot. Very cool view of the mountains. The most beautiful season is autumn, when the lake has not yet frozen, there is already snow on the mountains, and the trees are of all colors. In winter the road itself looks fabulous, but there is nothing to do on the lake because it just looks like a field covered with snow

There were communal fires pits and firewood available in 2019. When I want back in 2021 the fire pits were removed. In 2022 the trail was closed for the season. Paying $90.00 a year for the Conservation pass plus camp site fees and booking fees I'm paying more and getting less. I hope to go back in 2023 and hopefully see that money was spent in the right places.

The hike is just challenging enough to make the lake a views up at the campground even more worth the hike. The campground has everything you need including tent sites, bear proof food lockers or hanging pole, and communal cooking fire pits and picnic tables. This is a relaxing location and a great to to get your feet wet with backcountry camping. I look forward to returning here!
