Waters is popular during peak season. Reserve 2-4 weeks in advance for weekends and holidays.
Most parks have check-in after 1:00 PM and check-out by 11:00 AM. Call ahead if you'll arrive late.
Michigan weather can change quickly. Pack layers and check the forecast for Waters.

Not Open for Winter Camping,,, you could do a walk in but theres no where to park outside of gate …. Lots of highway noise no matter what season you’d come here.

Minimal vegetation to provide privacy between campsites, but extremely convenient to the interstate highway. The adjacent highway also equates to a lack of solitude, at least at most hours of the day and night. The water pump was bagged and out of order when we visited, though it appeared the DNR was providing gallon containers of bottled water for campers until the well could be fixed. Only o... Only one site was occupied when we stopped by on a Saturday afternoon. Prospective campers shouldn't encounter any issue finding an open site. Everything here is first come first served with no need for advance reservations.

Nice little camping spot. Great for those that prefer being off grid. There were 2 clean out houses & a hand pump for water (we didnt try) there are a couple spots for larger RVs. Each spot has a picnic table and fire ring. There is a path down to the lake as well. You could hear highway traffic off in the distance but it wasnt anything that was a too bad.

No power quiet campground close to I-75 it didn't bother us and we live 12 miles north of there.. Good place for a cheap getaway.. Lake access but private lake so you could bring kayaks or fish from shore.. Nice place go go on a budget..

Nice spot when your traveling and just need a good spot to camp. A 24' camper should fit well in this campground but not much larger. Easy access to the freeway and a nice store 3/4 of a mile away!
