This campground is kind of the worst of both worlds. Super small sites. We were right on top of everyone else and had no sense of privacy or “nature”—another review said it feels like a parking lot, and I totally agree. Our site was completely dirt and roots, virtually no grass, and it overlooked a trash-island in the river full of scummy littered beer cans. The fire rings do not have grates of any kind so you can’t cook over it unless you bring your own or purchase one from the camp store, and the water stations are few and far between. The playground is old and dangerous, the bathrooms were NOT clean, and the outhouses were straight-up repulsive. The mini golf is uhhh quaint and honestly should be free to play considering that the course itself is very DIY and the putters were just a random jumble of thrift store golf clubs. There is a handful of appropriative “Indian” stuff all around, but the cut-out-face photo opportunity is unabashedly racist. My kids enjoyed the indoor pool so I guess that’s something? And all the staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful (I don’t think I encountered the infamous owner). The campground was absolutely packed but it did get quiet by 10pm.

This place was just what we needed to unwind for a few days while visiting Michigan. Our little spot down by the river was quiet and peaceful, and we enjoyed watching the kayaks and canoes paddling by. Will definitely consider this place again if we ever end up back in the area. Thanks to the friendly staff for a wonderful stay!

We also went to the pool and mini golfing, the mini golfing was great but it was SO hot because we did it mid day. After that we went right into the pool which was amazingly tempted. It was like bathwater but a bit colder, I recommend being careful of not scratching or scraping your skin on the bottom of the pool because of the texture. Again be careful especially on the stairs with little ones. Overall I think that this campground was amazing and the staff are so kind and funny to chat with, along with you many neighbors while camping are quiet and nice. 4 stars❤️

There is laundry on site and it's less expensive than a laundromat. Highly recommended

Downfall is tight spaces, we kept having to move vehicles so other campers could park their campers which was fine but also kinda a pain especially if we weren't there and had our vehicles hit. I figure the sites near us were tent only due to the tight quarters.. Also no spot to turn around if launching a boat you'd have to back up down a path of 25yrds or so and no parking for a trailer unless at your campsite. View was beautiful and was peaceful for the most part. Bathrooms were very clean and showers were nice and warm. Huge playground for the kiddos which was awesome and a small pond near by to look at critters. They also have a indoor pool but didn't make it to it looked nice! Tubing down the river isn't ideal I'd say due to the lack of current. Had a lot of people say they kept having to get off and walk the river or kept getting stuck in spots. Not from shallow water but just lack of current flow. I'd rate a 8.7/10 definitely a cool campground to stay at and make some memories!
