Beautiful spot on the lake. Easy water access, steep from the group sites. Saw a moose across the water from site 1. Busy August conditions had us sharing a group site with 3 other tents. Lots of wildlife around camp: the rabbits are friendly.

Beautiful campground a quick but steep 5 minute walk from the turnoff on the greenstone ridge trail. Secluded and peaceful. Would definitely camp here again.

Stayed at individual campsite 4, campsite 6 seemed like the most ideal site. Right on the water, only bad part was the algae bloom. Roomy sites. 10/10 would stay again!

I stopped here on my hike from Rock Harbor to Windigo in September 2016. This campground lacks those nice shelters found at the coastal campgrounds, so plan on setting up your tent. The views of Chickenbone Lake are beautiful, and easy access to the water for purifying.

Most crowded campground for all through hikers. 1 4 6 has the lake access. 2 and 3 are ok, 5 is in the bushes... very popular campground, get there early! Lots of moose poop, and you can hear the moose running around the campground during the night
