Silver Cliff is popular during peak season. Reserve 2-4 weeks in advance for weekends and holidays.
Most parks have check-in after 1:00 PM and check-out by 11:00 AM. Call ahead if you'll arrive late.
Michigan weather can change quickly. Pack layers and check the forecast for Silver Cliff.
Don't miss local attractions near Silver Cliff. Ask the camp host for hidden gems and trails.

As myself and a coworker arrived to do this emergency winter repair, we were both sternly told "not allowed" in the park except for this time only. This was our first and only encounter with Hilltop Campground and as shown, the threat of a return gesture was made from the owner themselves for speaking the truth. Also be cautious if you plan to visit or camp there during the winter season. None of the roads in or around the campgrounds are plowed or salted making service of any kind almost impossible. ( End of Edit ) As a rapidly growing RV Service Technician with both Mobile service and a shop, I have never felt so restricted or not welcome during the busy season when campers need help the most. Upon arrival for a winter emergency call, when all other mobile technicians have gone to Florida to work, we were told service trucks and trailers are not allowed up into the camping area for repairs. We are a mobile service with multiple trucks and trailers to provide rv customers with what could be the most advanced mobile parts inventory around Genesee and Lapeer Counties. It was "this time only" ( as we were told by a lady in the office ) that because no one was around for service calls that we could be allowed in this one time. Not a very welcoming campground to a new company that is a licensed and insured businesses to help keep Hill Top Campground customers running smooth.

As a side note: We always stop by the camp store when we are boating and the service and the store are excellent. These are some very special people !!!

Location looks good from what I could tell. I've been going to several campgrounds to see which ones I may be interested for seasonal camping. I drove out during office hours and they wouldn't even let me drive around to see what the campsites looked like. (I looked at 5 campgrounds previous to this, and the ALL let me drive through to see what it was like.) This one straight up refused. The lady... Location looks good from what I could tell. (I looked at 5 campgrounds previous to this, and the ALL let me drive through to see what it was like.) This one straight up refused. The lady working said "they are all booked up anyway" and have 28 people on the waiting list. Well who said I wouldn't want to be added as #29?! Maybe I would've liked to stay there in 2027. But unless you know someone staying there, you aren't allowed to even go in. So I couldn't say how the campground looked, only how I was treated in the office. I didn't get a map or anything. They just don't want anyone new coming in. So don't waste your time trying to go out to see it like I did. That was a bummer because I liked that it was close to the highway. **In response - it wasn't even an option to be on the list. I was told it was full. I can't just drive back to Lapeer when there is an opening, I have no idea where I will be when that happens. That's why I wanted to see it for when there would be an opening. Obviously, there is a gate for security. Had I known someone staying there, I could get in no issue. I'm not sure why the rudeness from the front desk. Maybe there are too many people asking and they are tired of stating the same thing over and over.

I’ve spent a whole year here for work. What a great place.. the lake is beautiful, as is the beach! when you travel for work 24/7/365 you figure out rather quickly what to look for in a campground. The store is more than convenient, whether you need a fitting to fix something on your trailer, or a six pack of beer and some bait. The laundry facility is always clean, and the seasonal folks here are all very nice and welcoming. The owners really care about people and it’s apparent. I’m not sure what the low ratings are all about - but I’d put money on them deserving the treatment they’ve received. Anywho, I’d recommend this to anyone looking for a low key, relaxing place to call home for a weekend or even months at a time.

I travel with my husband for work along with our 2 year old twin boys. The owners are great, so nice! It’s great to have a playground & private beach. They have large, grass spots. The location is perfect... you feel like you’re far from town but most things are within 8 minutes. We’ve stayed at over well over 30 campgrounds and this is definitely on the top of our list!
