My child did not have a good experience here, in fact her 5 day stay brought more me more bad than good. My child did not have a good experience here, in fact her 5 day stay brought more me more bad than good. In short, food is good, staff is discriminatory, sexist, and does not try to hide their political beliefs, cabins and buildings are clean and well kept. They only had 2 showers for a cabin that housed 12 people, which I understand, they can’t have a shower for each camper, but 2 is obsurd, especially considering there is no bath house with extra showers, other than that the cabins and facilities are well kept and nice. Sounds like a nice place, right? WRONG! They have a very unfair dress code, even IN THE CABINS! Girls cannot wear leggings without covering their butts, no showing bra straps, you cannot wear pajamas or informal clothing outside of the cabin. It was also very obvious that they targeted bigger and more developed girls. The staff will even send your child back to their cabin to change if they don’t approve of their outfit. This is all extreme but I slightly understand, but THE WORST PART, was that THE BOYS COULD BE SHIRTLESS WHENEVER THEY PLEASED! This is obsurd and extremely sexist and unfair, this just goes to show how the staff there thinks. They even had a “talk” with the girls about “why they have the dress codes”, and how they are “just looking out for them”. They also made most of chapel feel like a party, oh, and don’t get me started on their last day. They cramped all of the kids into the chapel floor, blasted music and THREW KIDS UP IN THE AIR, they even had strobe lights. This was not what I was expecting when I came to pick my kid up… it was practically an hour long performance that had nothing to do with God! They had weird, sexist, unfair speakers at chapel and the staff were very obviously conservative, which is totally fine because politics and religion have no place together, not to mention in a children’s church camp, but they were very obvious about it and made it very clear where they stood. OVERALL, please do not send your children here, ESPECIALLY if they are girls. BY staff I specifically mean the women running the camp, not the camp counselors. Anywhere, in fact NO WHERE is better than this sorry excuse for a church camp.

Nice environment for retreats. Just need to bring own bedding, towel, and hair dryer.

I came here for 2 years when I was probably 11 & 12 or so and it was a wonderful experience. The camp feels safe and accepting and really opens your eyes and heart to God while having tons of fun activities and creative outlets. My husband and I were driving around Lake Geneva this past weekend and the thought came to me that I really wanted to see the camp and see how much of the grounds I remembered, so we drove in. Somehow everything looked completely different, but the same. It brought back so many warm memories and I realized how important it will be to send our little ones there. So stay tuned, I’ll update my review once they start going with new pictures and rave reviews about their experience.

Our son attended LGYC as a Teen Serve helper and he immensely enjoyed the experience. Wonderful grounds, he says the food was very good and grew & learned from his experience serving others. There are many activities on site indoors and outdoors. The group leaders were very attentive and encouraging. Shout out to Denis! Safe and welcoming place for children.

Was at camp this summer and it was a blast! Staff was so kind and respectful, there were so many fun activities and the food was surprisingly great for a summer retreat spot.
