About Frankfort Crystal Lake RV Resort

Campground in Michigan.

Nestled in the heart of Michigan's picturesque Benzie County, Frankfort Crystal Lake RV Resort offers the perfect base camp for exploring one of the state's most enchanting coastal regions. This well-maintained RV destination provides convenient access to the charming village of Frankfort, a historic Lake Michigan port town that has captivated visitors for generations with its natural beauty and small-town character.

The area surrounding Frankfort is a nature lover's paradise, where freshwater lakes meet towering sand dunes and pristine beaches. Visitors appreciate the proximity to Crystal Lake itself, one of Michigan's most beautiful inland lakes, offering opportunities for swimming, kayaking, and simply enjoying the tranquil waters. The nearby Frankfort North Breakwater Lighthouse, an iconic structure perched along the Lake Michigan shoreline, provides a scenic focal point for morning walks and sunset viewing. The sandy beaches and dramatic dune landscape create an idyllic setting for families, couples, and outdoor enthusiasts seeking rejuvenation away from bustling urban centers.

Frankfort's downtown district features local restaurants, antique shops, and galleries that showcase the region's artistic community. The village's working harbor remains active with fishing charters and sailboats, giving the area an authentic maritime atmosphere. For those interested in wine country, the nearby Sleeping Bear Dunes Wine Trail provides access to several wineries featuring local wines and stunning vineyard views overlooking Lake Michigan.

The Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, one of Michigan's crown jewels, lies just minutes away and offers spectacular hiking trails, scenic drives, and incomparable views of the surrounding landscape. These enormous sand formations create a unique environment unlike anywhere else in the Midwest. Adventure seekers will find plenty of activities including cross-country skiing in winter, mountain biking, and exploring the numerous trails that wind through this natural wonder.

This destination appeals particularly to retirees seeking peaceful lakeside living, families wanting to experience Michigan's natural attractions, and travelers who appreciate smaller communities with genuine hospitality. This campground appears to be brand new. The sites are all concrete with a small section of brick pavers. The sites are nice and level - super easy to set up. No General store yet - they said it was in the works.

Excellent location, excellently maintained and clean, clean bathrooms, friendly hosts!! They said we could have the eggs and veggies when available! Cuz they have Coop DeVille with chickens! I love the paved spaces and it makes it so much more cleaner and easier to set up the RV. Very roomy spaces too! Excellent park. Hope to be back soon!

Yes there is lots of wind, but it keeps you cool and keeps the mosquitos away! Absolutely not a single mosquito. It's a very large open feild with small trees on every RV site, just perfect if you ask me. They have ice and fire wood right on site, and a very cute chicken coop with fresh eggs every morning. Cute produce stand with free produce daily. Bathrooms and showers are very nice and well kept. Laundry on site. Very slow speed limit to keep the children safe, and an amazing jungle gym/swingset. Mike the maintenance man was so very kind and helpful! I usually end up home sick when I go on vacation and I'm finding myself "camp ground sick" because I miss it and loved it so much! If I had one dislike I would say the ants should be treated for the tent sites, but that wasnt a huge deal. Very nice and quiet and respectable neighbors. Not loud and roudy! One minute from A&W restaurant and two minutes from downtown Frankfort! I really want to say again how welcomed we were by everyone! Lovely place to stay! Thank you! We will be back every year!

Check-in was smooth and welcoming—the staff came right out to our RV with a big smile and even guided me to our site. Our spot was a level cement pad with no trees, making it perfect for Starlink.
