My wife and I stayed here in a tent for a night before hiking the Waterloo Pinckney trail. We were very impressed with the park, and especially delighted by the night hike that was led by host Doug, we were not expecting any activities, and what he led was fun and informative. We will definitely be camping here again

We had a wonderful time camping at Portage Lake Campground. Beautiful scenery, fall colors, and lots of campers. Our dog and family enjoyed the trails and walk to the docks. It is a fun and family oriented campground.

Somehow Google has this campground listed as a hotel? Still, it is a gorgeous lakeside campground with a fishing pier, playground, concession stand and a disc golf course all within a reasonable walk! There's also a boat launch over by the disc golf course, but I don't think you'd want to walk your boat over from the campground.

We came with a group of 14 people almost all at or near 60 years old. Each night we gather at a different group members site to talk, listen to music and enjoy our free time. We were threatened with eviction on two different occasions. We were too loud, we had music on after 10 and basically were told to go to bed or else. Although I understand that not all people are late night folks, the way... We came with a group of 14 people almost all at or near 60 years old. Although I understand that not all people are late night folks, the way we were talked too was disrespectful and unnecessary. Then we were all interrogated about the window stickers. Now it was ok that we had to listen to screaming kids and barking dogs all day but we had to just deal with it. I will not recommend or ever visit this park again. If you can't enjoy yourself at the place you paid to visit what is the point. I highly recommend more training in customer service for the people patrolling the park. Unless this is the way you operate, don't know. But for me it's too late. Do NOT recommend .

Sites and beach are kept very clean. Bathrooms could've been a little better. One afternoon there was no toilet paper in 3 of the stalls. The 4th was broken. We'd stay more days if we could get a signal, but you have to leave the park and go a few miles before you can connect. Bummer cause we'd work from there. Overall it's a beautiful, well kept campground. Rangers are helpful.
