Many trees here blew down in a major storm several years ago, so campsites don't have much vegetation between them. Things are just starting to grow back after storm cleanup. Despite storm damage, the location remains scenic. The two lakes bordering the campground each have a basic boat landing. Neither lake looks ideal for swimming, though there's a small beach right at the campground on the western lake. A nicer swimming beach - and a hiking trail - can be found at Long Lake, just a short drive or bike ride to the southeast. Bring a mountain or cross bike if you plan to do any biking during your stay. It's a several mile ride on gravel and sand roads from the campground before you'll reach pavement.

Beautiful campground next to two small lakes. Perfect for kayaking around. Two sets of pit toilets (very clean), only 1 water pump. No electricity. The road to the campground is very stony, not just gravel or sand but larger sharp stones. We ended up with a puncture.

A lot of work has been done throughout the camp ground, and although not secluded, the sites are great, with new graveled level pads, new fire pits and picnic tables. They have added an additional outhouse and a few extra sites. If you enjoy four-wheeling, this is a definite place to stay, with very convenient trail access.

Secluded campground with plenty of campsites to choose from. 8 out of 16 sites were available on a weekend in July. 2 sets of very clean and almost pleasant smelling pit toilets. Several miles of gravel fire roads to access the site, but they were in decent condition. Would stay here again.

Quiet, a place to see the stars. Wolves and coyotes howling at night. The sound of loons. Beautiful sunsets. No electric what so ever. No running water. The pump will give you a workout. Bring jugs of artesian water from Ashland. One of our very rustic favorite camp grounds

Had a great time, The owner was sweet older lady. Very rustic cabins, definitely worth it. This is not where you go to site on phone and ignore nature. Jeff the handyman was super cool as well. Stayed for a week rented a boat a few times. Would definitely recommend.

Loved this resort. Perfect for my toddler who loved the beach, playing in the calm, quiet water, going for walks on the quiet road, and the wildlife. Deer, pelicans, loons, ducks, and foxes. Paddleboat, kayaks, and canoes free to borrow. Elaine, who has owned the place for 40+ years, and Randy are the most helpful, honest people. They were always on hand to assist, even late at night. Did not see inside the cabins, but they looked charming. The other visitors have been coming here for decades, so this is a real gem! Bring your own motor boat or rent one from the resort.

Stayed here here for a night over the weekend with 8 others in their cabin meant for 6 people. There was enough space to fit all 9 of us, and the cabin was well maintained and cozy. More importantly, Elaine and Jeff were amazing hosts (Rest of the family too). Would highly recommend this place.

We did NOT have full dock service and were asked to pump our own gas. We cleaned our own fish in the cleaning house and were reprimanded for using "too much water". On our next attempt to clean our fish we were told that we didn't use "enough water". The owner then threatened to padlock the cleaning house for the remainder of our stay. We were told a set price and received a bill for nearly $300 more. The cabin was cluttered, unkept, and miserably hot. The electrical inside is without question a fire hazzard. A large baggie of unknown pills were found in the couch cushion. Light bulbs were missing from various fixtures. Shower was small and various signage demanded that "showers be short". The "office" is not open. There is no bait or ice for sale, as also promised. Wifi and television are non-existant. The views of the bay are beautiful. The resort has a ton of potential but it's time for the 80+ year old owner to retire! We will not be returning! Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else!

Brandon the dock boy, Brad and Elaine are great. We were camping in a full hook up site up by the fish house. The site was a nice shady spot, however backing into the site up a hill and around some trees was a daunting experience. Also they appear to store old building supplies, dead snow mobile, etc all along the tree line. They have a small beach with some swim floating pads that were fun. The dock area is great but has a lot of chairs and tables crammed in a small area. The resort is in a beautiful bay and it was great sitting on the dock in the evening watching the loons, pelicans, and ducks. The walk from our campsite to the beach was a bit treacherous without a defined walkway. Many rocks, ledges, and tree roots. Our campsite also had much of the same. There are 5 sites in the lower section but a not 'defined' clearly as to where is each site. Some campers were very close to each other. One magical RV site is right on the lake by itself. We enjoyed our stay. We did occasionally have a hard time finding staff to answer questions. There is no store onsite at all. I also had a tough time reaching someone on the phone prior to our arrival. They do not take credit cards. A small family run resort. We stayed a week. The Arrowwood resort is within walking distance and has a bar and restaurant. The Wooden frog campground is also very close. Nice quite area. We personally didn't fish but many people were catching nice walleye and perch. We have Verizon and had consistent 2 or 3 bars the whole week. I don't think there is any resort WiFi.
