Owners seem very money hungry and unforgiving if you second guess their judgement. Be prepared to have neighbors from Texas that have trucks run the gate to “buy propane.” The guys in the truck “did not look” like we’re are on methanphetamine with tinted windows and a blacked out license plate, as the owner, J, let them come and go as they pleased. Be prepared to have neighbors from Texas that have trucks run the gate to “buy propane.” The guys in the truck “did not look” like we’re are on methanphetamine with tinted windows and a blacked out license plate, as the owner, J, let them come and go as they pleased. Low trust for my kids here. Be prepared for your camper to smell like sewage as well as it was never addressed when they bought the campground. Also, if your camper is older than 10 years old you’re not worthy.

I love this campground and beach area, however I noticed some changes this year. Appears there may be new management. It is unfortunate the once clean restrooms are now filthy and unkept. The toilet was clogged in the campground restroom all day Saturday. A BM was on the beach restroom floor. The mgmt was up until 5:30 am playing loud music, lighting off firecrackers and playing "Good Morning Viet... I love this campground and beach area, however I noticed some changes this year. Appears there may be new management. It is unfortunate the once clean restrooms are now filthy and unkept. The toilet was clogged in the campground restroom all day Saturday. A BM was on the beach restroom floor. The mgmt was up until 5:30 am playing loud music, lighting off firecrackers and playing "Good Morning Vietnam" multiple times. This behavior carried on from approximately 2am-5am. Although I am a Robin Williams fan this did not humor me. I hope that the city holds their new mgmt accountable because I'd hate to see this beloved campground go straight down the toilet. Pun intended~

We recently stayed at Hickory Hills Campground for a night while traveling home from a trip out west. We did this last year also and were excited to go back. The owner, Jennifer, and her family could not be more kind and welcoming. We had a lovely quiet night under the beautiful Minnesota stars. My husband also enjoyed a relaxing swim in the pool after a lot of long driving days. Hickory Hills is... I stayed here over July 4th weekend this summer. We called them 2 hours before arrival without a reservation. The nicest folks. Super clean and scenic campgrounds. So accommodating. Nice hot shower and bathroom. Fantastic country store and pizzeria. It came up in a conversation I needed to buy jugs of water for my road-trip the next day and the owners walked over to my campsite with waters in hand...
