There are only 3 campsites here with fire pits and only 3 picnic tables although there could be at least 8 sites. This was in better condition 2 summers ago with more tables and pits that seem to have been stolen or broken. It is not maintained well because there are no fees. There are only 2-3 sites with any shade, making it super hot for a tent with no fans. Not great for hammocks with few trees... Not great for hammocks with few trees close together. 2 of the shaded sites you have to hike your stuff up a hill that says “No Motorized Vehicles” to get to, so bring a wagon or set up in a sunny site. The water pump is broken, so bring your own water. 2 stinky vault toilets that are emptied only twice a year. Following the brown road signs is a better idea than following Google Maps or you will miss the turn in.

Decent site with numerous flat spots for tents. The water pump, though. Out of commission. There are very few non-RV / larger campgrounds on the Root River Trail, so a non functioning water pump at one of those few is a real bummer.

Nice little hide away place. 7 spots the 5 at the end of roadway are small ( mostly for tenters). A few picnic tables and a few fire rings. Wouldn't recommend bringing a 25 or 30 footer down there, not big enough. Has pit toilets here and all the hiking trails you want.
