Laketrails is a wilderness canoe trip camp for teenagers, NOT a children's camp. I spent three magical summers here guiding trips in the 1960s. Laketrails was founded by Father Bill Mehrkens, one of the heroes of my life, a wonderful man and leader. I hope to make it back for the reunion in 2027.

Working as a wilderness guide at this camp led me to my career in education. My time at Laketrails was some of the most foundational for my adult life. I highly recommend this camp for any teenagers who want to experience one of the greatest places on Earth.

I love this camp. 5 out of 5 stars. It is life changing!! It changes you spiritually and emotionally. You really open your eyes and start to realize the world around you. You become one with the camp and the worst day ever is having to leave. This camp made me realize who I truly was, and it turned me into the strong women I am today.

Went here the summer after my sophomore year of high school with a big group of students and faculty from my high school, and it was unquestionably one of the top 5 experiences of my entire life. The staff and the experience were mindblowingly fantastic, and if you ever have the chance to go i highly recommend.

There is a certain "Laketrails Magic" that one becomes a part of when they step foot on this island. It's a true experience of community and wilderness adventure. I've been coming back to Laketrails for 10 years - I just can't get enough of it!
