What a beautiful, clean campground in an urban area. Staff is friendly and everything is clean and updated, including restrooms and laundry. Plenty of hiking and biking right out of the park. Have very much enjoyed our stay and highly recommend.

Maybe many minnesotans prefer lake houses over campgrounds, or long winter seasons make it inoperable, I had a hard time finding camp grounds from Google map near Minneapolis. Finally chanced through the "regional parks" (unique only to Minnesota ???) and found this one particular site. And of course the registration only opens up in March. I was lucky enough to plan in advance and jump in early snatched a spot for my small trailer in July. What a wonderful and quiet spot right in Apple Valley. 5 min from the Zoo and highways, and 10min from major shopping areas, it is about 28min from downtown without traffic. The campsite was paved, SPACIOUS and clean and well cared for, with nice shades and quiet family campers. Shower house is clean although water pressure can be low at times but acceptable. Just a pleasant set up as I imagined how Minnesota feels like! Did I mention about the park itself? It is large and somewhat nested as several pieces through multiple neighborhoods. We fished at a couple of the ponds with little to show for but mostly due skill limitations. Overall among top tier campsites we have visited this far!

Beautiful place to stop at for the weekend. It wasn’t full hook ups so remember to be conservative with your water and fill up your fresh tank before you get there. The spot we had was right next to the water and the lake view was breathtaking. This Rv campgrounds is definitely one for the books and a place we’d like to return to. You can jet ski, boat, and of course fish. The campgrounds are... Beautiful place to stop at for the weekend. We drive a 25ft class B with one slide. I saw much larger RVs navigating the park with ease. Great walking and bike trails, and much more.

The grounds are great. Cool place to camp, but the reviews about the camp Nazis are pretty accurate. I usually don't mind but coming in late from another site and another County where the mosquitoes were horrendous late at midnight already paid for the site and couldn't get my camp set up daughter sleeping in the car. We just fell asleep and we got a park ranger or whatever driving up and shining a spotlight on us and then backing up and parking and sitting there. So I had to get up wake up, walk down and say what's the problem said that I didn't have a tag on my post or whatever. That's not my problem. I'm not the one that does that. I don't have tags so thanks for waking us up and making us feel uncomfortable right off the bat. Then the next day we got these guys in their little Gators driving around and they they slow down to take a peek and look into our camp which there's nothing wrong with our camp at all. There's nothing wrong with us so it's kind of annoying and they're pretty nosy. The other campers have respect. I don't glare into your campsite and stare as they go by but the staff can't resist. I paid for my site. I abide by the rules and I expect to be not messed with or spotlighted in the middle of the night.

Well kept grounds, nicer fire pits with grilling options. Pads are mostly level but flat for easy setup. Friendly staff, free wifi (if you're close enough). Playground, hiking, ponds, nature, and very little city noise aside from the airplanes, great if you have little ones that love airplanes! Very close to the zoo!
