One of my favorite campgrounds. It has kind of went downhill. Maybe due to budget cuts for maintenace?? Maybe due to people not taking care. It was a bit run down and overgrown this year. The bathroom was still clean. PSA: There is no electrical hook-ups, and nobody wants to listen to your generator running 24/7 at a campground like this.

Went to this campground to do a hike that was on the list of the Gunflint Trail. Nice quiet campground, no electric . Lake was beautiful. Trail around lake was rocky and uneven but manageable. Multiple places along the trail on the lake to fish from shore. Planning to return to this lake and go kiaking.

This place is small and quiet and makes for a peaceful camping experience. It I'd also one of the cleanest campgrounds I've been to. Kimball lake campground is a cozy little spot just up the gunflint. Plenty of space between the sites for a more outdoorsy experience. Great access to a trout lake and plenty of nature.

Just left our little campground. Great off the beaten path if you want remote car camping while visiting the north shore. Cleanest bathrooms, good fishing spots, water spigot with clean water, thimbleberry/raspberry bushes, pet friendly with plenty of room between sites. A bit rocky for tent stakes and yes there is still a fire ban, but it was a good time.

The perfect lakeside camp. The spaces are big, the grass is green and soft. The lake is beautiful. It's an easy walk to the store and a little restaurant and funky antique shop. We anticipated spending 1 night here. However our motor home wouldn't start the next morning. The owner Anne was exceptionally kind to us. It was memorial day weekend and nothing was open. She stopped by every day to check on. She also stopped by and asked if we needed anything from the store . If I'm ever in the area again I'll definitely stay here.

The owner of this place is in it for one thing only - money. She treats people terribly. If you ask her something you can't just take her answer at face value, you need to get it in writing. Most seasonal campgrounds have the same people year over year. Not this place. Most of the people that came year after year are gone now or are leaving this summer. Turnover is super high and the reason is the owner is impossible to be comfortable with. She shouldn't be in a hospitality business. It's too bad. Used to be a great place to spend a summer.
