Hinkley is popular during peak season. Reserve 2-4 weeks in advance for weekends and holidays.
Most parks have check-in after 1:00 PM and check-out by 11:00 AM. Call ahead if you'll arrive late.
Minnesota weather can change quickly. Pack layers and check the forecast for Hinkley.
Don't miss local attractions near Hinkley. Ask the camp host for hidden gems and trails.

This place is a real gem amongst the woods. The rustic cabins can sleep eight each and there are scores of them. The main dining hall had a good commercial kitchen. One caveat is there is little to no mobile phone reception. Other than that it is fantastic place to be!

A group campsite all your own! It's huge! We had a family camping event of about 15 families of about 50+ adults and children. We didn't fill all the available cabins and I have not explored the entire campsite. There is a private beach, volleyball, horseshoe pits, ball diamond and probably more I just haven't found yet. If you have a large event this is the place.

Spent the entire Memorial weekend here. The ground is great for tenting, Lots of cabins and working bathrooms and showers. The Feast Hall is welcoming and spacious. I also love that the bears and nature are right there to experience. I will be returning soon.

Nice landing on the St. Croix River. There’s a camp site, restrooms and trails going both east and west. Not sure how deep the water is in this area nor how fast the current is, but the landing doesn’t appear to just be for canoes and kayaks, but also for boats (although I’d be careful how big of a boat you launched!). Maybe a john boat would be the best kind to launch there?

It is a nice place to have a picnic, and a good place to view the st. Croix River. It would be really great for people who go boating because it is a boat landing.
