I almost don't want to review this place. It is such a a hidden gem in the area. We didn't stay overnight here but swung by while looking for a place to hang out for the day. Everywhere else was absolutely packed. When we arrived here, it was just us, a bar and a pool. The bartenders were very good and friendly, food was decent, pool was nice and cool. Definitely DO NOT come here... 🤫😜

The launch is not steep so had to back further in then normal. Got in trouble for having a stand up ski at my site and they wanted $30/night to dock it. Most campers are permanent and they have rooms/hotel buildings they rent. Got busy over the weekend and the people weren't very friendly. And the short term sites are set up right along the entry road. Very noisy when busy. Paved road is horrible with pot holes and broken pavement. The dirt roads throughout the campground made for very dusty conditions.

Couldn't ask for more perfect stay in the motel building down by the water, located literally 20 steps from the boat ramp. The only complaint I have was the small herd of elephants who showed up in a minivan and occupied the room directly above us. But not one complaint about Red Oak or the operation. Will definitely be back again later this year.

Pretty cool place, actually. It's a sprawling complex as well. Way bigger in person than you think. We stayed during the shoulder season, it appears. Not too busy while we were here. They might as well take the 10 mph signs down, or think about changing them to 30 because people absolutely fly down the gravel roads. I mean, when you're kicking up gravel onto the sites you pass, it's a bit too fas... Pretty cool place, actually. It's a sprawling complex as well. Way bigger in person than you think. Would come back but people really need to slow down through the park.
