Went to see the waterfall here. But didn’t expect to see the beautiful scenery. Unfortunately wasn’t much water coming down the falls but the hiking trails made up For it! I’d recommend checking this place out!

The riverbend nature center is a real gem. It is as large and as nice as many of our state parks and is free to the public. It is not uncommon for me to see more deer than people and the wildflowers are abundant. It has a nice mix of prairie, woods, bluffs, and river. It has beauty any time of year.

Beautiful place with lots of trails, river views, a water fall and scenic views for your delight. Birds in different colors and sizes, deer, squirrels, frogs, snails, turtles and more you can find to feed your curiosity. There are two main areas for parking, very clean and spacious. A beautiful rustic path along the Straight River. Comfortable to walk the owl path, it's calm, and the nature sounds are abundantly clear. If you stay quiet the whitetail, finches, and cardinals appear with out a doubt. Great picnic areas for a park lunch.

Interesting space. Chronic sound of traffic all night when you camp. Lacks wildlife. My suburban townhome home is quieter and has more animals than this campsite. I love all the native flowers and plants and how the place is in the process of healing and renewal. I wouldn't expect many animals to return beside mosquitos and bats due to the noise pollution, though. Nice facility for horse camping.... Interesting space. I love hiking here. It's a bummer they haven't opened up the gate yet this year. Especially after they spent the money to put in extra parking last year. It's not safe having to park out by the side of the busy road.

I like this area for hiking. I get lost at the end every time though so give yourself plenary if daylight. I didn’t the last time and it was awful.
