About Wildhurst Campground and Lodge

Campground in Minnesota.

Nestled in the heart of northeastern Minnesota, Wildhurst Campground and Lodge offers a peaceful retreat for RV travelers seeking authentic North Woods experiences. Located in Finland along State Highway 1, this public campground provides an ideal base for exploring one of Minnesota's most scenic regions, where dense forests meet pristine waters and the pace of life slows to match nature's rhythms.

The Finland area is renowned for its connection to Minnesota's iconic natural heritage. You'll find yourself surrounded by the Superior National Forest, one of the largest stretches of protected forest in the eastern United States. The landscape here tells stories of glacial geology, with rocky shorelines, deep blue lakes, and endless evergreen forests creating the quintessential North Woods atmosphere that draws visitors from across the country. The region's location provides easy access to some of Minnesota's most beloved outdoor destinations and activities.

This is prime territory for outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds. Anglers will appreciate the abundance of walleye and northern pike fishing opportunities in nearby lakes, while hikers and nature walkers can explore countless trails winding through boreal forests. The area's waterways make it particularly appealing for kayaking and canoeing adventures, with everything from peaceful lake paddles to more challenging river experiences available depending on your skill level. Birdwatchers find the region exceptional, especially during migration seasons when the skies come alive with activity. In winter, the area transforms into a snowmobiling paradise with well-maintained trails connecting communities throughout the region.

Beyond outdoor recreation, the Finland area offers a genuine taste of Minnesota's frontier heritage and small-town character. The region's mining history is woven into the landscape and local culture, and visitors often enjoy exploring this unique aspect of northern Minnesota identity. Nearby communities provide essential services and local dining options where you can experience regional cuisine and hospitality.

Whether you're planning a summer escape focused on fishing and water sports, a fall getaway to witness the dramatic color changes across the boreal forest, or a winter adventure on snowmobile trails, Wildhurst Campground and Lodge serves as a welcoming base camp for your Minnesota North Woods adventure.

This place is awesome for using as a base for ATV riding. The trail runs right through it. Lots of camp sites for tents and RV's. They have newer owners who are working hard on improvements and expansion. There is a bar and grill on site. There is access to a trail system that covers most of the entire arrowhead. There is also a yurt and a few rustic cabins. Very beautiful area. There is n... This place is awesome for using as a base for ATV riding. The trail runs right through it. We had a blast at this campsite, it was clean, the sites were not so close together, and their food was great! The host was amazing, I had to change my dates and they gladly did it. Can't wait for next year!

My husband and I stayed here for the weekend and had a blast the owner Jason was really fun to talk too. We stayed in the yurt & that was a great experience. Loved that the trails were accessible right from the campground. Seen my first Moose with her babies! I will definitely be back and stay again
