About Lake Louise State Park

Campground in Minnesota.

Lake Louise State Park offers a serene escape into Minnesota's natural beauty, nestled in the heart of the state's lake country. This intimate campground features just 26 sites, creating a peaceful atmosphere where you can truly disconnect and immerse yourself in nature without the crowds often found at larger facilities. The park centers around the stunning Lake Louise, a pristine body of water that serves as the focal point for recreation and relaxation throughout your stay.

The Minnesota landscape surrounding the park showcases the region's characteristic beauty with dense forests, rolling terrain, and crystal-clear waters. The lake itself provides excellent opportunities for fishing, with healthy populations of northern pike and other species that attract anglers throughout the season. Whether you're an experienced fisherman or someone who simply enjoys casting a line from the shore, the fishing here offers both solitude and the promise of a rewarding day on the water. For those who prefer water-based recreation without the fishing rod, the lake invites swimming, paddling, and simply enjoying quiet moments by the water's edge.

Beyond the water, the park's natural setting makes it ideal for hiking and exploring the surrounding forest. The trails and pathways through the wooded areas showcase Minnesota's ecological diversity and provide excellent opportunities for wildlife observation and nature photography. The relatively small size of the campground means you'll experience a more intimate connection with the landscape and fellow visitors who share a love for outdoor adventure.

This park appeals to families seeking a manageable camping experience, couples looking for a peaceful retreat, and outdoor enthusiasts who value quality over quantity when it comes to campground amenities. The setting is particularly appealing during Minnesota's pleasant summer months when the weather is ideal for outdoor activities. The combination of fishing, water recreation, hiking, and the simple pleasure of camping beside a beautiful lake makes Lake Louise State Park a worthwhile destination for anyone exploring Minnesota's outdoor offerings.

This is a tucked away State Park just outside (north) of LeRoy, MN. It has fairly flat to easy trails. It has multiple trails to choose from. A small river runs through it, which opens up to become the lake. A small dam area with a small waterfall (depending on the season), where I have seen river otter as well. I love it because its serene and there are at most only a couple people here when I am... This is a tucked away State Park just outside (north) of LeRoy, MN. It has fairly flat to easy trails. Beautiful trees, river views, wide-open fields it's peaceful, clean, and so well taken care of. The little towns along the way are like stepping back in time. You’ll find small cafés, bars, and restaurants where you can stop for food, snacks, or drinks, and a few shops with water and supplies if you need to refill. There are also plenty of places along the trail where you can take a break or use the restroom, which is really convenient on a long ride. We made it about 15 miles before turning around, and it was such a fun experience. Next time I’m going for the full 29! This is an awesome day trip for friends, couples, or anyone who wants to get outside and enjoy Minnesota’s beauty. I’ll definitely be back. 🌲🚴‍♀️🌞

There are many trails: paved, gravel, unpaved, just for biking, just for hiking and or horse trails. The main paved bike trail connects to this park as well. The group camping areas are beautiful. Again, all rustic. Looks like very good fishing as well. A great place for canoeing (bring your own, no rentals available at the park). The picnic area, trails, and the group sites are handicapped access... There are many trails: paved, gravel, unpaved, just for biking, just for hiking and or horse trails. I did not see a handicapped accessible bathroom, specifically.

We arrived on a warm weekend without a reservation and still found an open campsite—both electric and non-electric sites were available. The park offers great hiking, biking, and horseback trails winding through prairie and woodland, plus a calm lake perfect for paddling or relaxing by the shore. A highlight was the historic mill site and dam that created the lake, originally built to power a gristmill in the 1800s. If you do a little digging, there’s some neat local history tied to this spot. Whether you're camping, exploring the trails, or just enjoying the quiet lakeside atmosphere, Lake Louise is definitely a Nice place to visit!

Part of the Small Park Mafia, this is a smaller, more quiet park with an extensive horse/hike trail system and the most dense hike through deciduous forest i have experienced in MN. This is a top-notch spot for fall color. The campground is a baby, with approx 20 small, wide-open and closely situated sites, it feels more like a group camp site than separate. They are flat and shaded. The star of this park is the nice picnic area and swimming beach. A great way to beat the summer heat and pass the time. There is an easy walking trail from campground to beach, no driving required. Also with the Shooting Star State Trail passing directly through the park, it's a great one to bring your bikes.
