My friends and I went to wild river for the day to explore and hunt down mushrooms. The park is very clean and the nature was amazing. After being lost in the woods for a while we decided to setup a picnic at the visitors center. My only criticism is how the visitors center had no drinking fountain and the water that came from the faucets in the bathroom has a very metallic taste to it. Otherwise... We ventured down the river afterwards and went swimming before heading home. A very enjoyable experience.

Loved the short hike near the river and saw so many dear from the moment I pulled into the park (around 3 pm) walking along side a doe and her three young fawns and while leaving the park around 5 pm. Not too crowded, dog friendly. Bike path, picnic area, and super clean bathroom.

This is one of our favorite state parks!! We saw sooo many deer when we camped. They like own the place. There are black bear and we got to see one cross the horizon when the sun was setting. Super cool. We were told about a wolf pack too. And Bob cat. Super cool. So many trails and things to do. We had an event about bears at the theater outside. Lovely viewing areas for sunset and night sky watc... This is one of our favorite state parks!! We saw sooo many deer when we camped. They like own the place. Loved being able to drop in for kayaking. Walk along the river and the visitor center was good!
