Choctaw Lake is a beautiful place with a 3 mile walking path allaround the lake. I love going there with my doggies. I have only used it during day time, but the camping areas seem great and well maintained! Highly recommend visiting this park nestled in the Tombigbee forest. It's about 30 min drive from Starkville heading towards Sturgis and the you take the US 12 from Ackerman.

Not too far from the Natchez Trace. A great campground to stay at if you're traveling down the Trace and need an overnight stay! Great trails for walking or hiking! Beautiful lake for fishing! Campsites have 30/50 amp electric service and water and there's a dump station at the entrance/exit of the park.

Very peaceful. Good roads going in. We took the bike out on a little day trip. Very clean and well kept. The west side of the lake (from hwy 15 side) is paved. All other entry points are gravel.

Great place to camp or just get away for the day and very affordable! Bathrooms and showers around the lake, multiple walking trails and pet friendly! I love it every time I go and it’s really clean!

Only came for the trails which are quite nice. The lake loop is wide, flat gravel with wood paths over the water. Lots of restrooms and benches, plenty of shade. Limited VZW signal throughout the park but I usually had 1-2 bars of 4G.

We had a blast on our camping trip. Clean lake and camp, There is a swimming area, playground, a couple boat docks, and lots of picnic tables with grills. We had questions and the law enforcement officer that patrols the area was very helpful, since we could not locate the park host. Cell service was spotty to non-existent. May have been just me. Recreation.gov charged an $8 reservation fee, $20 per night plus an electric fee of $6 per night, $10 to cancel your reservation this seems too expensive. We camped here 5 nights Nov 2023 and there was no electricity up charge. Large camp sites, showers and flush toilets. Swimming, bike/hiking trails, disc golf.
