About M-K Campground

Campground in Montana.

Nestled in the heart of Montana's stunning natural landscape, M-K Campground offers a genuine escape into the wilderness for RV travelers seeking authentic forest camping experiences. This intimate national forest campground provides a peaceful retreat away from crowded tourist destinations while remaining accessible to some of the region's most beautiful outdoor attractions.

The campground's modest size of just 10 sites creates an exclusive, uncrowded atmosphere that many RV enthusiasts treasure. With excellent ratings from previous visitors, M-K Campground has earned its reputation as a well-maintained destination where nature lovers can truly disconnect and recharge. The surrounding national forest provides the perfect backdrop for your camping adventure, with towering trees and pristine wilderness at your doorstep.

Montana's diverse landscape offers something special for every type of traveler. Whether you're an avid hiker, wildlife enthusiast, fishing aficionado, or simply someone who wants to sit by your RV and absorb the mountain air, this region delivers. The proximity to national forest lands means endless opportunities for outdoor exploration, from scenic day hikes to backcountry adventures. Spring brings wildflower meadows and rushing streams, summer offers comfortable camping weather and long daylight hours for exploration, fall paints the landscape in brilliant colors, and even winter has its own quiet beauty for those prepared for it.

The national forest setting provides a more rugged, back-to-basics camping experience compared to commercial RV parks. This makes M-K Campground ideal for experienced RV campers who appreciate natural surroundings over extensive amenities. The relatively small number of sites means you'll want to plan ahead and secure your reservation early, especially during peak season months.

Montana's outdoor culture runs deep, and staying at M-K Campground puts you in position to experience it authentically. From wildlife watching to stargazing in the clear night sky, forest camping offers rewards that extend far beyond typical vacation experiences. This is a place where time slows down and the natural world takes center stage.

Great place that's not too far away. Easy to get too, and you can almost always find a camping spot.

Absolutely love this area. M-k campground specifically has large fire pits in every spot associated with it and about half of them also have metal bear food storage containers. Most of the sites are pretty large. The site pictured here doesn't have one (bear container). All of them have huge tables. Room for 12 or so. 2 out houses to choose from. Most days it's really not bad. Some days its ROUGH.... Absolutely love this area. Still beats pooping in the woods I say. Bring bear spray/.40 cal pistol or larger for bear protection. Been going here for 20yrs now have only ever seen 2 bears from miles away but have heard many stories. Parking for 2 trucks or possibly 3 cars designated for each spot. Good chance of seeing deer/moose in the summer. Camping is free. Camp sites are far enough away to provide adequate privacy as well. Additional camping spots all along the road that leads to m-k even up to the top where glacier lake trial is. Some up there but way more bear danger.
