If you value integrity, transparency, and clear communication, this is not the park for you. Throughout these reviews, you'll find many people who've had great experiences, and for those willing to spend a little extra money, those experiences are valid. The park itself is kept clean, it's a quiet location, and it even offers billiards and an air hockey table. The updated shower facilities look beautiful at first glance, and if you're like me and love a cold plunge, you'll definitely enjoy the showers. They're a bit of a roller coaster. The sewer occasionally backs up, so if you walk in and see an overflowing toilet, don't worry - they'll clean it within a day or two. There's also a charming laundry facility on site. The washing machines are a good size for small to medium loads and wash very well. However, the dryers doesn't perform as well, and some are often out of service. The pricing is reasonable; however, you could save time and money by going five minutes down the road. There's a propane fill-up station on site, which is convenient in winter, but it's heavily overpriced, so be prepared to pay more to fill your propane here. For long-term stays, expect to pay and exorbitant amount per kilowatt-hour for electricity. To put that into perspective, running a small 31 ft fifth wheel with an electric fridge might cost around $4 to $6 a day, totaling roughly $120 to $180 a month in addition to your lot fee. Alongside the high propane costs, This park will not be kind to your wallet. If you plan to pay with a credit card, even a bank-issued debit/credit, be aware of an additional %3 to %4 percent processing fee. I was never informed of this extra charge, which highlights the park's lack of transparency. Still, the park is peaceful and the grounds are well-maintained, so if finances aren't a concern, you'll be well taken care of. Regarding management and ownership, communication between partners (based on my own experience) is minimal, so don't rely on what one person says. Make sure to hear from both sides and confirm they agree before proceeding, or you could end up in a communication nightmare. I highly value integrity and keeping my word, but due to poor communication, this park-which initially seemed like a blessing-ended up costing me more money than I could afford to lose. As I mentioned earlier, it's a beautiful, quiet spot with amenities like cornhole, a large fire pit, and excellent dog parks for your furry friends. But, as I said initially, if you prioritize integrity, respect, transparency, and clear communication, this isn't the park for you. Many parks are well-maintained, quiet, and worth considering, so I advise you and your wallet to explore other options. The Big Red Barn RV park isn't a one-star place, but it certainly doesn't deserve two.

We stayed here for 2 weeks while visiting family in Carthage. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Excellent Wi-Fi, great updated bathrooms, easy to use Laundry via an app. We have a class 40’ Bus towing a F-150 and had zero issues maneuvering thru the park to our spot. Lots of shade via mature trees. Dog park was a huge plus and also was expanded while we were there and our pups loved it. Am... We stayed here for 2 weeks while visiting family in Carthage. On our way thru on Route 66 we stopped by. The campground is a work in progress. The staff is working hard, doing a great job. The bathrooms are newly renovated, laundry was clean. There’s a drive-in theater 66 near by, which the locals love! (We did too) We enjoyed our stay and recommend other campers to check it out.

Wasn’t rooms but instead beautiful big trees over level RV spot. Quiet campground off a county road not far from the freeway but no noise. Close to downtown Carthage so you can explore. Big Red Barn staff very friendly we were led to our site. Would definitely stay again should we be coming this way.

The bathroom and showers have recently been remodeled. They are spacious, very clean and have great water pressure. The sites are large and level with full hook ups and lots of trees for shade. Big Red Barn was a great find. Convenient to roads yet so peaceful and quiet! The staff were friendly and very helpful.
