The drive is short and easy, making this KOA a perfect home base—close enough to the park for convenience, yet far enough away to offer peace, quiet, and a chance to truly unwind. It was exactly the evening reprieve I needed to settle my spirit after a day of awe and adrenaline. The campground itself is beautifully maintained, with tidy sites, open views, and a calm mountain atmosphere that instantly slows your pace. The staff were gracious, welcoming, and genuinely kind, which makes such a difference after a long day on the road or in the park. Everything felt organized, cared for, and thoughtfully managed—one of those places where you can tell pride is taken in every detail. And Bella? She was thrilled. The great dog park was the perfect place for her to stretch her legs, burn off energy, and enjoy some well-earned playtime. Watching her run happily while the sun dipped behind the mountains made the evening feel complete. For travelers with dogs, this KOA truly understands how important pet-friendly amenities are to the overall experience. If you’re visiting Yellowstone and looking for a campground that offers comfort, kindness, and a calming end to an unforgettable day, Yellowstone Mountainside KOA is a wonderful choice. We stayed here for one night at the end of September. Our check in was very smooth and our site was great. Everything was very clean, it was easy to pull through and hook ups were great. The bathrooms are extremely clean and have good hot water for showers. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We can definitely recommend this great KOA.

This was my first time at this establishment. I reserved ahead online with no problems. We stayed Tues, Wed and Thur night the first part of September. It was pretty full for the most part. We did get a tent site right by the creek which was awesome. It was a short walk to the bathroom/showers. They had a laundry room and a store though I never did get to go in. The campground was very neat... This was my first time at this establishment. I reserved ahead online with no problems. We stayed Tues, Wed and Thur night the first part of September.
