Such a shame that the officials and government of NJ are allowing this place to go to waste, literally We are the Garden state after all but instead let areas fall apart and run projects that ruin them and build build build I would recommend camping here at least once, you’ll love it even though some campers may not have etiquette and walk right thru your campsite to get a view of the water instead of walking in between to the edge

Well kept park. Was mid April and a bit cooler but had a good time. Bathrooms were clean. I was there only one night and did not use the showers, but there are some there. Definitely family friendly, I would recommend to anyone looking for a good state park. The only downside is camping spots are a bit close together.

It was nice seeing such neat and clean park, had awesome time. Rest rooms needed cleaning and maintenance. They stopped swimming and Boating this Year due to alge and bacteria spread so watch for it. We missed it a lot, though water looks clean and clear.

Plenty of fishing spots! We caught a largemouth bass on the second cast! Multiple boat ramps. Restrooms available. Seating by the water. Scenic and quiet. Love this spot!

There is a good amount of roadway and walking paths, plus you can take some beautiful pictures of the water and trees. (As I write this review and post current pictures, we have been in a drought so water level is low but it's usually much fuller and picturesque). I have stayed at the camping portion of this park numerous times. The campground is good, there are restrooms and showers available. Each campsite has a fire pit and picnic table, but sites with power and water available are limited. Don't delay booking a week/weekend because site availability fills quickly. There are multiple playgrounds for kids too! Also, dog's and alcohol are prohibited from the campground. NJ Parks employees are available through normal business hours for any complaints and NJ Park Police patrol at night.

Our site was concrete but not level but we're small so no biggie. Used both RVTRIPWIZARD GPS and our vehicle GPS and once we were close, both gave conflicting guidance. We chose wisely as the Knight said in that Indiana Jones movie and followed our RVTRIPWIZARD. This is a small park, bath house consists of a single shower, sink, urinal/toilet per gender. No fire pit and all gas fire pits must have a covering grill and be inspected and approved by personnel from the on base Fire Department. There is a small cafe/gym in the building where the MWR office is located. On our day of our scheduled arrival, we realized our repairs were not going to be completed in time and attempted to contact the office. Not surprising, they closed early for the next day's holiday. We did have our site number, so once we arrived, we had no issue finding our site. We left early the next day for our next stop and about two hours into our drive, the MWR office called and basically said we had to physically stop in the office so they could swipe our CC. Not going to happen so we went back and forth. Person we were talking with was very inflexible, insisted we had to pay for the day we had not arrived since we had reserved the site (the Park was half full) but eventually relented a bit and took our CC info over the phone. I didn't agree to the charges, so once we reached our next destination, I wrote a polite email explaining the circumstances and about an hour later received an updated statement removing one day's charge. There is nothing close by - there is a shopping area with an LL Bean, PF Chang and Cheese Cake Factory about 20-miles away.

Booked the reservation thought we were booking at the one by the water not in the middle of nowhere. The sheets were dirty, it smelled like someone hadn't open the room up for months.
