About Holiday Haven Campgrounds

Campground in New Jersey.

Holiday Haven Campgrounds offers a peaceful retreat in Woodbine, New Jersey, where visitors can experience the charm of southern New Jersey's Cape May County region. Located on NJ-50, this public campground serves as an ideal base for exploring one of the Jersey Shore's most authentic areas, away from the crowded boardwalk destinations that dominate the coast.

The Woodbine area represents a quieter side of Jersey Shore camping, where you'll find genuine small-town character mixed with natural beauty. This region has deep historical roots, and the surrounding communities reflect the area's rich past. The landscape features the unique ecosystems of the Pine Barrens and coastal wetlands, creating a distinctive environment quite different from typical shore destinations. Nature enthusiasts will appreciate the proximity to protected natural areas and wildlife habitats that characterize Cape May County.

What makes staying at Holiday Haven Campgrounds particularly appealing is its strategic location for exploring multiple attractions. Cape May, just a short drive away, is famous for its Victorian architecture, charming downtown shops, restaurants, and beaches. The town offers cultural experiences including theaters, historic tours, and seasonal events that appeal to a wide range of interests. For those seeking beach time, several shore access points are within reasonable driving distance, providing options for swimming, fishing, and beachcombing.

The area is also home to excellent opportunities for outdoor recreation. Birdwatchers flock to Cape May during migration seasons, and the diverse habitats support numerous species year-round. Fishing enthusiasts will find both bay and ocean fishing options nearby, while those interested in history can explore various historic sites and museums that tell the story of this coastal region.

Holiday Haven Campgrounds serves as a comfortable home base for couples, families, and retirees who want to experience the Jersey Shore without the intensity of more commercialized areas. Whether you're planning a week-long vacation, a weekend getaway, or using it as a stopping point on a longer RV journey, this location provides convenient access to some of South Jersey's most appealing destinations while maintaining a more relaxed, accessible atmosphere.

This campground isn’t for everyone. The close proximity to downtown Charlottetown is what attracted us to book here. Many locals camped in the grassy field during our early August stay. The camp store was well stocked and there are plenty of washers and dryers in the laundry area ($2.50 each — the machines could be cleaner). Overall the CG served our purpose as a starting point for day trips to discover PEI. Otherwise, it’s the equivalent of city dwelling RV style.

We have been at this campground for the last 4 years. It’s an amazing family run campground and the owners are hands on. They spend a lot of time planning activities. There is something for everyone. Everyone at this campground is friendly. They will waive and say hi, even if they don’t know you. It’s definitely a very nice quiet getaway for us.

This will be my 8th season here and I love my happy place. The owners are very dedicated and work very hard at making the campground a place where you can come and relax and have a good time. They work hard at keeping all areas clean and provide many activities for the young to the elderly. Thank you to John, Kim and staff.
