About Allaire State Park Group Campground

Campground in New Jersey.

Nestled in the heart of central New Jersey, Allaire State Park Group Campground offers a peaceful retreat into nature for RV enthusiasts seeking to escape the hustle and bustle of the northeastern corridor. This historic state park spans over 3,000 acres of pristine woodlands, rolling meadows, and scenic waterways that transport visitors back to a simpler time while still providing modern camping conveniences for today's travelers.

The park's natural landscape is dominated by the Manasquan River, which winds gracefully through the property and provides excellent opportunities for fishing, canoeing, and kayaking. Whether you're an avid angler hoping to catch some freshwater fish or simply want to enjoy a peaceful paddle through calm waters, the river offers both recreation and tranquility. The surrounding forests are perfect for hiking and nature walking, with trails that wind through mature trees and past meadows filled with wildflowers during the warmer months.

What truly sets Allaire State Park apart is its rich historical significance. The park is home to the restored Allaire Village, a remarkable 19th-century ironworking community that has been preserved as a living history museum. Visitors can explore historic buildings, learn about the area's industrial past, and gain insight into what life was like during the 1800s. This unique cultural attraction makes the park especially appealing to history buffs and families looking for educational experiences beyond typical camping activities.

The location is remarkably convenient for exploration of the broader New Jersey and New York region. You're within reasonable driving distance of the Jersey Shore's beaches, the Pine Barrens' natural wonders, and the attractions of central Jersey. For those seeking a bit more excitement, the proximity to larger towns and cities means that shopping, dining, and entertainment options are never far away, yet the park itself feels refreshingly remote and disconnected.

Allaire is ideal for families, history enthusiasts, outdoor lovers, and anyone seeking a meaningful camping experience that combines nature, recreation, and cultural enrichment. The group campground setting makes it particularly well-suited for organized gatherings, family reunions, and group retreats.

I came to see the dinosaurs. At first I didn't realize that I had found them as I entered the outskirts of the exhibit. I was drawn in by all the different primitive shelters and then realized I was at the Robin Ruggerio art installation. I loooved every min of my exploration. She's very talented local artist.

This a great place to hike or bike. But be careful you may run into a Dinosaur or two! Some steep hills in the back as you head to River.

I loved this place, and it is so cool. But they one MAJOR problem. There is NO bathroom. What are people supposed to do, just hold it in??? I mean, I guess there could have been one and I just didn't see it. But if that's the case, they should put the bathroom where people can ACTUALLY see it. But other than that, great place!
